Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.
There is a certain sect of OSAS that has really dived deep into satan's teaching, that they have arrived and the resurrection is past.
They don't just teach the spiritual resurrection of the new man of the heart in Christ Jesus, but literally teach they have already recieved their immortal spiritual body, and have arrived at the end of all things, which is Christ. (Whatever that means)
But their old mortal bodies are of course still stuck on earth sinning unto the end.
While there is another less extreme sect of OSAS, that believes their souls are eternally preserved pure in heavenly places, while there old hapless bodies are still stuck in the sinning mud of earth, They don't go so far as to preach already having their spiritual bodies in those heavenlies, which would no doubt already be flighting and spiriting around with the angels.
However, their error that the physical mortal body is the old man of sin, could lead certain deep thinkers to conclude that those old bodies of sin cannot possibly be resurrected immortal.
Therefore, the immortal spiritual bodies cannot be the resurrected old mortal bodies of flesh and blood. Those bodies will be consumed by fire with the old earth.
Throw in a misreading of how flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, and voila, not they are just spiritually preserved forever in heaven, but have already gotten their brand-spanking new and immortal body of spirit.
This kind of high spiritual imagination may indeed be the simple result of them that think their own personal revelations from God in these really special times, are above and beyond any old letters of Scripture, that were written long ago by other men of like flesh and blood on earth.
Paul refused to declare He had already attained and was forever perfected in heavenly places.
And Jesus didn't receive His own spiritual and immortal body, until His old mortal body was resurrected from the dead.
