Wow, That was my initial thought too, LOL. Definitely something sinister sounding about that.
Devin, not to pick on you personally as this is not my intent all, but this is the real issue as with many others; you just want to QUOTE scripture verbatim without explaining any of it that shows your understanding or way of thinking. I guess you are compelled to just quote scripture in an automatic mental mode that just kicks in when the subject of scripture arises? I for one do not get it at all.
When we discuss or debate a non scriptural or non spiritual subject say like current events, we just do not quote the headlines, we discuss what it means to us. It is the life blood of the discussion and argument.....why not the same with scripture?!

OH OK, thanks for not picking on me. If people can't read the scripture for themselves and understand it then that might be a problem yes. Guess I just assume people can comprehend what they are reading and put it together in their minds. So I don't explain. Perhaps my shortcoming?

I saw your posts in @theefaith thread on the trinity. So I think I see why you're hesitant to accept the scriptural evidence. The trinity has been obvious to me thru the communion of the Holy Spirit. I believe in the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit to be God. I have received this testimony from the Holy Spirit.
OK. I think it's important for us to understand each others views in order to understand each others posts. So thanks for letting me get to know your views a little, although you're view of the trinity was a little vaguely stated in @theefaith thread, so I'll keep an open mind.

Has anyone ever wondered why JESUS would not expound His parables unto many . Its because IF one is NOT IN THE KINGDOM
NOT TRULY HAVING FAITH IN JESUS , then they are without .
DID JESUS go around re explaining every thing , or DID HE JUST SPEAK . POUND THE PLACE WITH SCRIPTURE .
Scripture often convicts , even those who oppose it . THEY Dont like seeing the plain truth and would rather
see what men have taught them . FLOOD THIS PLACE WITH BIBLE DOCTRINE . AND if you feel led to explain then explain .
Folks act like you need a compass , a calculator , mens hermes and so forth to understand the scrips .
They mean what they say and its says what it means . We could all sit and read the letters from paul , james , jude
peter , john and see it for what it says . Its not like they sat down and wrote letters to the church folks that only a high minded scholar could grasp
THEY WERE LETTERS . SURE and for SURE they were SPIRIT inspired . But they were wrote so simple a child of the king can grasp them .
There might be a few spots , in pauls writings , that can be a bit more difficult . BUT NOT MANY . JUST a few .

They have made simple speech that even a babe could have grasped into something so comprehensive
with oft many a contradiction .
WHO HERE LOVES GOD . THEN READ THE BIBLE . GOD dont and wont abandon those who LOVE HIM .
These church age is a mess . IT truly , and i do mean TRULY ISSSSS a total mess .
As for me . I CLING TO JESUS and that bible . GOD will give us what we need to know as we need to know .
Just trust in him . AND marvel not , the churches are already , some of them are , spying out even their own members .
WE are about to witness the largest betrayal the church has ever seen . AND ITS COMING from many who even claim to follow Christ .
A delusion is as a delusion does . CONFUSION . It makes hard to see what should and could be so easily seen .
And always its objective is , DISOBEDIANCE TO GOD , TO CHRIST .
I bet most Dads here would not buy an excuse from their own children ,
YET BUY EXCUSES DAILY from their own leaders .
Take note of this . Imagine your own child whom you love and have often told you want them happy in life
was told by any of us , Now son and daughter , Today when you get home
i want you all to take out the trash and have the dishes clean .
So off to work the parent goes .
The daughter then tells the son , we better get these dishes done and trash taken out
before Dad comes home . And the son says , relax , Has not our Dad told us he wants us to be happy
and joyful . Well yes the daughter says . WELL taking out the trash and doing dishes dont make us happy and joyful .
Oh , i see says the daughter .
Later that evening , DAD comes HOME .
He notices full trash and dirty dishes . HE then calls the children
and says , DID i not ask you to have the trash taken out
and the dishes done . Well yes says the children . But you also said you want us to be happy and joyful in life
and doing dishes and taking out trash is not joyful to us , nor does it make us happy .
The dad then sits up and says to your rooms , you are grounded .
WHEN GOD SAYS DO , DO , WHEN HE SAYS NOT TO DO < DONT DO .
For i desire Obediance . SAYETH THE LORD . And to a lamb its not heavy or burdensome to be a doer .

Beware of the RCC . Remember even a broken clock is right twice a day . But beware her my friend .
Many a soul she has taken captive . Watch out my friend .
Sounds like it leaves the forum wide open for heretics to attack the Bible. And for Bible believers to be severely attacked and called unChristian. Even by mods.
Many here INSIST that Jesus is not God and Hell is not eternal. That is not heresy? Don't get me wrong. I think it makes it interesting for discussion to allow some of the heretics. lol
