If I describe God to you and you say something like "I would not serve a god like that". It means you serve a different god.Nah, I must be thick headed today...I still can't see why???? Sorry..never mind, I just don't get it.

Considering the kind of description of God that would elicit such a reply from me... I would certainly hope it would be a different god that I serve. A VERY different god.If I describe God to you and you say something like "I would not serve a god like that". It means you serve a different god.
Thanks for furnishing an illustration of how it works. I believe many actually hate God who prefer idols instead.Considering the kind of description of God that would elicit such a reply from me... I would certainly hope it would be a different god that I serve. A VERY different god.
"No" many just don't want the same god the Pharisees created for themselves as some have. Thanks for furnishing an illustration of how it works. I believe many actually hate God who prefer idols instead.
If you hate the definition, you hate who it defines."No" many just don't want the same god the Pharisees created for themselves as some have.
So, when I describe a God of love that you resist, preferring instead to worship an iron-fisted dominator, then does that mean you hate God?If you hate the definition, you hate who it defines.
God is love, but in a balanced way that includes all of his attributes. So, when I describe a God of love that you resist, preferring instead to worship an iron-fisted dominator, then does that mean you hate God?
Come again Dave, I don't understand that?
I do believe in the "calling and election of sons"...which would also put me in the elite box, as are the Calvinists.
I believe anyone can Come...but not all will be sons..
I didn't understand your "hate God" bit in your post. ??
If they are right about God, this is not a good position you hold to.Because that is Calvinism Doctrine. It is a lie, but they believe it.
No, If you are saved, you will love God and obey out of thanksgiving. And live a holy life. So, if I do wrong, and God says I don't get punished for it, is that your description of Him?
And so, you feel neither of us will ever do wrong (and sometimes not by mistake)? And if I do something wrong, that means I don't love God?No, If you are saved, you will love God and obey out of thanksgiving. And live a holy life.
John says because of our new birth, we won't want to sin or live a sinful lifestyle. But if we sin, we can repent and be forgiven. And so, you feel neither of us will ever do wrong (and sometimes not by mistake)? And if I do something wrong, that means I don't love God?
Either you do not know what Calvinists believe, or you are going by other's opinions about them.See, Helen? Calvinists really don't seem to know what they believe.

We could examine each of the Five Points of Calvinism to establish this. But let's take the teaching that goes to the heart of the Gospel -- Limited Atonement. The true Gospel presents Unlimited Atonement -- that Christ died for the sins of THE WHOLE WORLD, therefore all may be saved if all will repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Now, tell us exactly how and for what reason that's a false Gospel.
