Answer the following questions if they apply to you, please: Why do you follow the twenty-seven books of the NT that the Catholic Church declared inspired? Why do you follow Martin Luther's canon of the OT with seven excluded books?

1. The canon of the NT was established LONG BEFORE the Catholic Church came into existence. Proof -- the Aramaic Peshitta.
2. Christ established by His own authority the OT canon with 24 books (corresponding to our 39 books) long before Martin Luther.

In view of this the Catholic Church can only take credit for including apocryphal books in the OT. And even Catholic scholar Jerome was not too keen about this nonsense.

Apostolic authorship is significant for NT books; the exception is Luke and Acts, which is in any case the Acts of the Apostles.

Peter affirmed Pauls writings were scripture and Paul gave the Apostles the right hand of fellowship as well.
