It's simply I don't "RELY" as much on the Credibility of those men that Canonized the Bible some 300 years afterwards than, you as well as many others do!
Of which in "my" eyes anyways?
Comes pretty danged CLOSE to "INERRANCY!"
Which IMHO?
Is a VERY SHORT hop, skip, and a jump TO IDOLATRY!

Which again? IMHO is NOT a GOOD thing!
Yet?.....THIS?.......Is WHERE "my" faith is!

Genesis 6:3
And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

If you’ve read the Ante Nicene Church Fathers, then you know they rejected what you’ve accepted.

Funny, or rather, ghastly, how some interpret, “lay down your life for others” as “be okay with losing your life as you try to make the other guy lose his life”. To lay down your life does not mean “be willing to die as you go about killing others.”

A warrior never lays down his life for anyone, his life is simply taken by an enemy combatant who has better skills or strategy.

“Amazingly, Lutherans and Roman Catholics, who slaughtered thousands of one another’s people in religious wars, found common cause in their hatred of the Free Church.”

(Christian Jihad, p. 164)

“A state-run church … is the antithesis of freedom.”

(Ibid., p. 169)

@Wrangler @Armour of God @NayborBear all support the actions of the state-run church, which had its beginning in the 4th century.

The state-church persecuted the Anabaptists, the Free Church. The level of cruelty unleashed on the unarmed Anabaptists is shocking. But it won’t move hardened hearts.

Yea, that's why cowards always run to the front lines - there's no chance their life may be layed down in the affair!

Friend, you are drawing a false line, constantly re-inventing the meaning of words to rationalize the evil ideology of pacifism that you promote.

From my X / Twitter “Following” feed this evening -

”Jesus was no warlord. Muhammad, of course, was.”

@Wrangler you expressed enthusiasm for warmongers / warmongering in this thread.

What is the difference, if any, in your mind between a warlord and a warmonger?

“The Crusaders were good and justified in their warmongering.” - @Wrangler (post #1631)

“The Crusades implanted a violent image of Christianity” - W. Robert Godfrey

@Wrangler @Armour of God @NayborBear you are doing great damage to the Messiah and his cause by reinforcing a violent image of Christianity in the minds of Muslims, Jews, and others who aren’t following him. You are building up a barrier that the Messiah didn’t construct and wants torn down.

You are doing great damage to the Messiah and his means of going from the Prince to the King of Peace via violence. The consequences of Judgment Day is not a stern look by a 1st century Jewish carpenter.

I’m waiting for the Messiah to return and doing what he commissioned his followers to do in the interim -> going about the business of making his enemies his disciples.

Read and meditate on what Dr. Godfrey wrote.

Remember that time when Jesus, the apostles, and the disciples ran to the front lines with their swords?

Why didn’t the apostles kill their enemies?

AI offered me this explanation:

“The apostles did not kill their enemies because they were committed to Jesus’ teachings of non-violence, love of enemies, and voluntary suffering, as demonstrated when Jesus stopped Peter from using a sword. They focused on preaching the resurrection, viewing their sacrifices as part of a divine plan.

Key reasons based on biblical and historical context:

• Adherence to Jesus’ Teachings: Jesus taught his followers to love their enemies and pray for their persecutors, rather than killing them. When Peter used a sword to protect Jesus, Jesus commanded him to stop and even healed the man.

• The ‘Sheep Among Wolves’ Model: Jesus taught that his disciples were to be ‘sheep among wolves,’ which did not include killing.

• Voluntary Sacrifice and Mission: The apostles’ goal was to spread the message of the resurrection. Their willingness to endure suffering and death was a crucial part of their testimony.

• Focus on Spiritual Rather Than Physical Warfare: The mission was focused on changing hearts through faith, not conquering earthly enemies.

• The New Covenant Approach: The early Christians understood their role was not to enact physical vengeance, allowing for the potential transformation of their persecutors, such as Paul.”

@Wrangler @Armour of God @NayborBear

Not bad. Much better than “they were cowards” - the taunt of playground bullies; and the devil.

Still in denial of the vital role violence plays in Gods plan to rid the world of evil, once and for all.

The starting point is understanding who God is (warrior) and who we are, his adopted children made in his image given dominion over all the Earth (aka, also warrior), commanded to do battle, using the armor of God AND Earthly weapons, like buy a sword and give to Caesar what is Caesar’s.

Next is to understand why Jesus is not called the king but the prince of peace. A prince is in the waiting to come to power. That is, he won’t be the king of peace UNTIL he completes the violence on Judgment Day.

Finally, in the meantime, we are to emulate Jesus in bringing people to God and working to promote the kingdom of God.

“Imitate me, as I imitate Messiah.” - Paul, 1 Corinthians 11:1

”We do not use the weapons of the world.” - Paul, 2 Corinthians 10:4

Jesus and the apostles didn’t kill their enemies. They weren’t “armed, ready to kill.”

The popes and the crusaders didn’t imitate Paul as he imitated the Messiah.

”Armed, ready to kill” - your teaching and the teaching of your concealed identity church - isn’t imitating Jesus and Paul; it isn’t the teaching of the New Testament. It isn’t even the teaching of the Roman Catholic Church, nor of any other named church.

”Armed, ready to kill” is the role of the pagan Roman government, not the followers of Jesus. - Paul, Romans 13.

A god who is ALL love, ALL grace, ALL mercy, NO sovereignty, NO justice, NO holiness, and NO wrath?....... IS an IDOL! —R.C. Sproul.

As you've read through that/those "canonized" edition/s of the Bible (as I'm NOT so certain that you have...lol) you would have or SHOULD have "discovered", or became aware of anyways! that?:
That OH SO MANY TIMES AND INSTANCES? In "man's understanding/s and interpretations" of God's "Laws AND Precepts?" Over time, and "Pascifism" (caused BY the spirit of antichrist.....which no one seems to be able "identify", let alone stop?) which renders the WORD of GOD to become "VOID" DUE TO THE "SOCIALISTIC NATURE" of Man? (UNCONDITIONAL love CONQUERS ALL yanno?........in the eyes and affairs of man's eyes)....In the O.T.?....I refer this as the "talmud!" To "these" eyes, anyway? "It makes NO difference how long time goes on, amidst however many CULTURAL changes seduce the "living this life" easier, or not?" "People, or the NATURE of people?" DON'T!!!
So? Man forces God INTO this BOX!! So that His "Laws and Precepts" can be "ingested" or understood, by the increasingly diminishing growth and "maturation of spirit" that one being "Born From Above" REQUIRES!

Which makes Sproul's "quote" true! (because he "GETS IT/SEES")
And? Is WHY his quote is in my signature line!
Because I do too!

Ezekiel 13:
19 And will ye pollute me among my people for handfuls of barley and for pieces of bread, to slay the souls that should not die, and to save the souls alive that should not live, by your lying to my people that hear your lies? :contemplate:

I encourage you, as I encourage everyone, to read the Bible, to read the Ante Nicene Church Fathers, and to read other works on Christian / Church history.

Sproul and Dr. Godfrey, as you may know, were associates in Ligonier Ministries. I hope you’ll revisit and reconsider what Dr. Godfrey wrote about the Crusades. (Post #2037)

I both confirm and affirm “the vital role violence plays in God’s plan to rid the world of evil, once and for all.”

You know that. You’ve even told others that I do.

Confirmation and affirmation aren’t denial.

“The entire Christian story is the answer to the problem of evil. Everybody’s dealing with the problem of evil, but only Christianity answers it. That’s what Christianity is.”

(Frank Turek)

He’s right. However, history has shown that Christians don’t always answer it well. See, for example, the Crusades and the outgrowth of them, the Inquisition.

The Messiah wants them evangelized. For multiple reasons, you aren’t the man for the job.
Now what you just wrote is total truth . BUT if by evangelism one means finding common ground , ITS ALL A LIE .
YOU wrote THE MESSIAH wants them evanglized .
WELL THEN lets preach to THEM THE MESSIAHS WORDS , as did paul who got cast out by unbelivers
as did peter and j ohn , james and others .
MANY , for MANY reasons are no longer the people for the job of evanglising .
either they strike with the SWORD
Or they strike with a lie of ecumeincalism . EITHER WAY its darn sure not of GOD , OR HIS MESSIAH .
This world peace plan of ecumeincalism . BELIEVE ME its NOT OF GOD .
ONLY an anti christ would preach its interreligious interfaith dialogue .
DARN SURE NOT THE MESSIAH or His sheep .
Tell us all something real quick .
IF you think you have such a loving church that loves JESUS and that loves humanity
DO yourselves a favor .
BRING a bible into them . READ the words of JESUS , and later of the apostels .
DONT pick and choose , READ IT ALL .
NOW in most cases you are gonna see THIS .............
A whole lot of sharp objects coupled with sharper langauge being hurled at you
AND ALL under the banner of GOD IS LOVE . OH YEAH WE GOT PROBLEMS ALL RIGHT .
I KNOW GOD IS LOVE . I ALSO KNOW HE DONT REJECT HIS TRUTH OR HIS WORDS .

And we too are gods as Jesus pointed out, referencing Psalm 82:6. Check it out!
but ye shall die as men ecumencial lovers of an interfaith interreligious dialgoue peace plan .
Cause ye gods by your ecumiencal plan DENIED THE GOD and HIS CHRIST .
SO hey kings kids , WEAR A CROWN OF T HORNS and try some humble pie and walk as DID JESUS .
That might sting a bit wrangler . I say it not to condmen you or any , but to REMIND US ALL .
HEY WE AINT GOD , WE AINT CHRIST
and we HAVE NO RIGHT to deny HIM , HIS G OSPEL or any of HIS WORDS
