Jesus said we need to be perfect as our Father in heaven is perfect. Probably none of us can state it better than that.

He said be ye perfect, and we know we cannot be perfect like Him, which Apostle Paul especially showed in Romans 7. All those who think they can reach perfection are following doctrines of the occultists and eastern religion, for they seek to attain perfection while here in the flesh and be released from the wheel of rebirth.

But that isn't true. If Jesus said we have to do it, then we can do it.
