The new birth of the believer is the father taking a part of himself and placing it in you. It was going to be by the seed (Christ) that the believing sinner would be completely made over with a new life. The seed that was prophesied back in Genesis 3:15. Not just an old life fixed up and made better but a new life that had never been experienced before. New creation as the scriptures referr to the birthing in the new creature. Not only for the individual who recieved it (new life) but this new creation people would be a people that were not even talked about in scripture before. Nothing to lead up to a big event of a God birthing people and making them whole by a new life in them. That didn't exsist, there was no type of it no shadows of a birthing. We know nothing about it untill Paul goes into detail about the in Christ message. We have bits and pieces but not a depth of knowledge untill Paul. Paul said it was hid in God until now, no man knew.
25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, - Romans 16:25.
We have ample scripture for the coming Savior of the world who would even have a name [ Emanuel ] God with us. The pain and suffering and the way he would come into the world was all prophesied in scripture. Now I digress and say Jesus is the first in scripture to bring it out to Nicodemus in John 3:3, but Jesus knew it was not time to have it brought out as a message and Nicodemus had no idea what he was talking about. No one would because there was no HolySpirit teaching yet as far as being poured out on all flesh.
Now what is all this we talk about and how pray tell can you ever put it all together? It all came together at God's cross. The cross is where the old and new meet up, one ends and one starts. One was killed out and the new came into being.
When a sinner believes, they receive new life the moment they believe. The old man is dead in Christ and believers are placed in Christ at that moment. The new life is Christ, it is not like him, we do not imatate new life or try to be like new life, new life is Christ in you and you just are. The new life comes to fruition as the believer can see their death, they have been crucified with Christ (if you are in Christ) and they start to see their death. Life only comes out of death "lest a corn of wheat fall in the ground and die."
