And it is 1-1 combat. Nato is supplying vast amounts of arms, but no manpower except for trainers for said weapons. If Russia could grind down the manpower of Ukraine- it wins or the West has to declare war and go in.

Honestly, NATO should have invited Russia to join its ranks after the Cold War, that would have solved everyone's problems, and helped keep China and the extreme elements in the Muslim world at check. The best way to end an old enemy is to make them your new friend, like with Germany and Japan after the two world wars. I think Russia even wanted to join NATO, but they were unfortunately rejected.

Yes, many nations are providing Ukraine with weapons. but they are not actively fighting so it is a 1 on 1 war. I don't even consider this a proxy war. for the west yes, as they are seeing how Russia responds and how poorly their military is doing. Also, they are seeing the effectiveness of their weapons in real combat situations.

I'm not spending long on this thread. You love fighting and I don't, but let me just share this with you. If God "means what He says and says what He means," then Ezekiel 38 begins as follows:

1 And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, set your face toward Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him, 3 and say, "Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against you, O Gog, prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal: 4 and I will turn you about and put hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you forth, and all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed in full armor, a great company with breastplate and shield, all of them handling swords, 5 Persia, Cush, and Put with them, all of them with shield and helmet...

If He says what He means and means what He says, your interpretation has Russia some day attacking Israel with an army that still uses horses, shields, breastplates and swords. All the words used here in the LXX were common for the ancient weapons, not modern ones.

ἵππους καὶ ἱππεῖς = Horses and horsemen. This can hardly be read as anything other than what it was literally referring to. The horse was an important part of ancient warfare, but was already ceasing to play any significant role by WWI. They were still used by some armies in WWII, but only the outdated ones, or those on their last legs.

θώρακας = Breatsplates. This is the same exact word as is used in Ephesians 6, in reference to putting on the breastplate of righteousness. Since the application in that passage was to the full compliment of armor worn by the Roman soldier, the meaning is pretty clearly defined.

πέλται καὶ περικεφαλαῖαι καὶ μάχαιραι = Shields and helmets and swords. The last two are again the same words used in Ephesians. The word πέλται referred to a small light shield, as opposed to the heavy shields used by the Romans, but it was clearly a handheld shield nonetheless.

Why would Russia divert back to using horses, shields, breastplates and swords when they are currently using the state of the art in modern weaponry?

I can in fact come off as a little insulting towards interpretations and statements I find rather ridiculous sometimes, but that's not my intention, whether you think it is or not. I'm simply arguing for what I believe does and does not make sense.

NATO could not invite Russia to join in since NATO was set up to stop Russian aggression! But the nations which were a part of NATO never kept their commitments to keep NATO strong and viable, and NATO failed to fulfil its mandate. Thus Crimea went under the heel of Russia.

But when the Soviet Union fell, NATO and all the European nations failed to design a proper strategy to deal with Russia. Until Crimea was grabbed by Putin, the clueless Western politicians believed that Russia was going to be just another European country! They even handed over their strategic energy supplies to the Russian bear. And now they are scrambling in Germany for firewood because of their own stupidity. That's correct. NATO was created to oppose the Soviet Union's expansionism not Russia's. When the Soviet Union fell they had a chance to allow Russia in, and from 1990 through 2007 the Russian leaders were all interested. But the door closed by 2008. Putin didn't trust NATO expansionism and NATO didn't trust his either, so Cold War mistrust ended up winning out.

The Russians have always had expansionist goals, though they hoped to merely topple Zelenky's government without much bloodshed just like they did in the Crimea. The trouble is that the West deliberately duped him into a full-scale war, and in the process has led the world into the biggest conflict on European soil since WWII, which they are now using to bankrupt the Western world while claiming it's all Russia's fault, though they are actually the ones behind it.

Germany in WW1 and WW2 were just duped, no real problem with such with people really.
