AND, expect an eventual vote from the southern provinces to join the Russian Federation.
2/3 favor unification with Russia, or at the least separation from KIEV

Many Ukrainians Want Russia To Invade

To many in Ukraine, a full-scale Russian military invasion would feel like a liberation. On Saturday, across the country’s eastern and southern provinces, hundreds of thousands of people gathered to welcome the Kremlin’s talk of protecting pro-Russian Ukrainians against the revolution that brought a new government to power last week. So far, that protection has come in the form of Russian military control of the southern region of Crimea, but on Saturday, Russian President Vladimir Putin got parliamentary approval for a broad military intervention in Ukraine. As that news spread, locals in at least four major cities in the east of Ukraine climbed onto the roofs of government

Well in Ukraine 2014 was a long long time ago. We have to remember that from 2010 to 2019 Ukraine was governed by Russian style dictator presidents Viktor Fedorovych Yanukovych and Petro Poroshenko. Both highly corrupt, aided the oligarchs (both like Putin) and highly authoritarian.

So yes many Ukrainians desire to go back to teh devil they knew--Putin. That changed with Zelinsky! Though he failed to drain the swamp, he did brting some major reforms before Putin illegally invaded his nation and conducted illegal referendums to declare the Donbas separate rgions!
