Should Believers Pray Using The Name Of Jesus Christ?

How many times have you heard prayers using the name God/god alone, not one word mentioning Jesus Christ?

1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Many times the name of God/god is invoked by persons, but the question is "What God/god"?

There are gods many, and lords many?

1 Corinthians 8:5-6KJV
5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)
6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

Interesting that when Jesus taught the disciples to pray, that pattern He gave them did not include any reference to Him by name. Don't misunderstand me - I am certainly not saying that is wrong to pray mentioning the name of Jesus. He also said:

(Joh 14:14) If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.

But "name" in the Bible, especially when we talk about the name of Jesus, or the name of God, means far ore than the label by which they are known.

(Act 4:12) Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."

That verse doesn't mean that we are saved by the label "J-E-S-U-S", but by Jesus Christ Himself. So it is with praying in the name of Jesus. It means more than merely taking on "in the name of Jesus, Amen" to the end of our prayer. It means coming to God the Father through Jesus the Son.
