So heres a comparison between some reformed churches as far as membership numbers and their trends. Basically what we notice is, the liberal based churches are shrinking, and the conservative ones are growing.
1. Presbyterian Church (USA):
Statistics: 1,245,354 members and 8,925 churches (2020).
Trend: Rapid decline since 1984.
Positioning: mainline, liberal, ecumenical, ordaining women and supporting same-sex marriage.
Affiliations: World Council of Churches (WCC) and World Communion of Reformed Churches (WCRC).
2. Presbyterian Church in America:
Statistics: 383,338 members and 1,928 churches (2020).
Trend: Stable. While the peak in membership was in 2018, it's too early to say whether the slight decrease in membership in 2019 and 2020 will continue after the Covid-19 pandemic. Until 2018 it was in rapid growth and may resume it.
Positioning: Evangelical, conservative, does not ordain women and does not support same-sex marriage.
Affiliations: World Reformed Fellowship (WRF) and North American Presbyterian and Reformed Council (NAPARC).
11. Orthodox Presbyterian Church:
Statistics: 31,809 members and 328 (2020).
Trend: Slow growth.
Positioning: Evangelical, conservative, does not ordain women, and does not support same-sex marriage.
Affiliations: International Conference of Reformed Churches (ICRC) and NAPARC.
Notes: Orthodox Christian Reformed Church, Westminster Presbyterian Church in the United States, American Reformation Presbyterian Church, Christian Presbyterian Church, Reformed Presbyterian Church in the United States and Evangelical Reformed Presbyterian Church have been extinct in the last 20 years. Theres about 50 more stats from different churches, but the trend is the same.
