Yes, I wonder how Neighbour is doing?
A couple of months ago I asked him if he went to any other Christian forums and he said no.

I mentioned going to Christianityboard but I don't know if he will remember it....to see if any of us are here.

I also wonder about Ayin Jade with all she is going through now.

Thank you for the update @Debp
Btw, @Stumpmaster tried to include you in a joint PM he sent to a few of us. But he said you must have a block on your message function.

It's good to be a member at a couple of different forums in case of something like this happening at one of them. Or to have some email addresses on a few of your close fellow members.

Several years ago a forum I helped moderate was hacked and destroyed. Apparently the owner wasn't keeping up with all of the upgrades he needed to do.

I've asked George for more information about the database loss. It would be good to know either way whether a fix is possible or if the situation is irreversible.

Just a suggestion:

The last couple nights my computer has been getting hit with attacks. I have Norton, and it's been going off the wall.

If you all are friends or have been friends for awhile, you may consider PM'ing your e-mails to each other to stay connected incase more forums get attacked.
I have a feeling things may get wonky now that Iran is "testing" across the pond.
We may have to take cyber supposable precautions, they may even shut the internet down, or have blackout/brownouts.
I think we're in for some nasty weather and I don't mean rain.

It sounds like a few of you know each other well.
You could do a chain, where one sends their email to one, and then one of them send theirs to another, and so forth.
That way if you find another working forum you can meet up, or at least keep in touch.
That way you all don't get lost in cyberspace.

Just a suggestion.
Hugs

Norton and other anti-virus programs are pretty much useless against new viruses when they first come out.

Everyone should learn how to do hard drive imagining and store / save their documents to their D Drive and not their C Drive (back up your data from your D Drive to multiple hard drives)

That way you can use a hard drive imaging program to restore your C Drive if needed.

A couple months ago I got hit with ransom ware for the first time and my PC was locked!

I used my hard drive imagine program and restored by computer within about 10 minutes and I was back in bidness as though the ransom ware never arrived in the first place.

I use a program called Acronis True Image and have used this for over a decade and it's always worked great.

There are numerous vendors out there offering hard driving imagine programs like Acronis.

It's your ace in the hole if you get a virus, ransomware, or other such attacks.

Well, I heard the are very pro "eternal security" teaching over there so if that's the case it would be better if they stayed down permanently! thumbsup2.gif

I added him to my follow list so he can add me now. I keep the PMs among friends because I have had hostile unsolicited PMs in the past.

Worthy Christian forum. I am a member there for eight years..
Interesting on the worthy site. Might check out. I received a temporary suspension from Christianforums.net for a few days. The reason for the ban was that I omitted a Bible quote in one of my discussions, and a grace-something admin threatened me with a ban in bold letters for not complying. In response, I replied to the post addressing me, expressing my surprise at the harsh communication. Despite not fully understanding the context, I received a temporary ban for a few days.
Considering the perceived disrespect, I am contemplating participating in bans, suggesting that disrespectful or unreasonable bans should incur penalties. For instance, a ban of 3 days could result in a 30-day absence from the forum. Given my background as a retired advertising/marketing specialist, I strive to contribute posts that enhance membership and attract more advertisers. I believe my absence for 30 days might diminish the appeal for both members and advertisers, impacting the profitability of Christianforums.net's strategies.
I am concerned that three instances of my absence might lead to dissatisfaction and frustration among members, potentially causing advertisers to lose interest. This concern has motivated me to seek a moderator position here, hoping to draw advertisers and members from Christianforums.net. However, I have noticed complaints about my posts, which raises concerns about the overall reception.

I have Windows 7. And I'm not upgrading ever. So I made backups on CD of the operating system.
I don't use the computer to download anything except a few games like Jewel Quest ( a match 3 game) or Alice Greenfingers ( a simple gardening/market kind of like farmville only simpler) .

When I get that message that says: Don't shut down your computer and call this number, I shut down my computer and reboot.
So far so good LOL.
But I keep getting these Norton warnings that the system has come under attack and no action is required because it quarantines them.
I do update Norton and keep it current, but ever now and then one sneaks through.

Thank you for the info,
Appreciate it.

Ziggy, your humor shines through in your response. On a more serious note, the idea of this forum becoming a hub for advertisers and members is an interesting proposition. Let's engage in this conversation with enthusiasm and explore the possibilities.
"Ziggy, your lightheartedness is always appreciated! Now, turning to a more substantial topic, what if we envision this forum expanding to become a prominent space for advertisers and members alike? Imagine the potential for a vibrant community where meaningful discussions and connections thrive.
As a community, we could collectively contribute to making this forum a go-to destination, surpassing the reach of other platforms. The prospect of attracting advertisers and members here could indeed elevate the overall experience.
So, who's with us on this vision? Let's explore the opportunities and possibilities together. Hugs and high hopes for the future! #ForumExpansion"

I have no authority here to make any decisions. I am simply a sister in Christ among many members in this body.
I would ask however, what kind of advertisers would be sought. Because I seen some Fellowship websites which have some VERY worldly advertisers if you get my drift.

Also I find it so interesting when I order something from Chewy for my cats, that everywhere I turn I see advertisements for Chewy.
I would simply caution what doors are opened and allowed to share their "wares"
And how much commerce is transacted through a place such as this.

I remember when this site had no ads. It was much more enjoyable and less distracting. But I understand financing is helpful in keeping up websites such as these.
It's when the advertising overwhelms the message of the place it is advertising in, it becomes uncomfortable.

It's like dancing even when the music stops. Or the shoes don't fit comfortably. Sometimes the feet need to rest.
That's just my 2 cent contribution
:D
