mjrhealth, Open your eyes! We've been lied to for thousands of years. We never landed on the moon. Don't believe scientists (most of them are evolutionists and godless atheists) believe God's Word. We don't feel motion on earth, BECAUSE WE ARE NOT MOVING! It's really quite simple.

The North Star is always in the exact same spot in the heavens. The constellations Orion & the Pleiades described in the Book of Job (arguably the oldest biblical book) remain just as Job described them thousands of years later.
There is no observable curvature of the earth.
We can clearly see Venus and Mercury at night (when supposedly the dark side of the earth is facing away from the sun. When the lab coat scientists tell us these planets are in solar orbits closer than the earth (this makes no sense).
We can see craters and features on the moon with the naked eye. When NASA scientists tell us the moon is 252,00 miles away. Apollo missions or fly-overs never revealed such massive features.

This could only happen on a round earth. Approaching a mountainous island over the horizon is even more certain.

If we know that eclipses of the moon are caused by the shadow of the earth, it is clear that, no matter where you are, an eclipse shows a round earth shadow.

The denseness and barometric conditions of earth's atmosphere can distort our vision at the horizon, e.g. mirages, heat waves, etc. If you use binoculars or a zoom lens you can usually see the whole of the ship right down to the water line.

There are a number of celestial events that are difficult to fully understand. I take the official scientific explanations with a strong dose of skepticism and try to keep an open mind to alternative explanations, such as, maybe there are dark objects/matter which periodically obscure the moon's light rather than it being the earth's shadow. I do know that objects in the moonlight has been demonstrated to be cooler in temperature than those in its shadows, i.e., moonlight has different properties than sunlight. The sun and moon are timepieces that God has graciously given us (Gen.1:14).

There is also the fact that an object's shadow can be the same size or larger than the object (never smaller). However, during a solar eclipse the shadow cast upon the earth is only about 70 miles wide. How can this be? You also didn't explain how we can see Venus and Mercury at night when we are supposedly facing away from the sun? We should often question all (earthly) authorities and many past scientific and medical practices have been later found to be completely without merit. Yet, many folks don't ever dare to question their doctor's and scientist's views.

The dropping off of ships at the horizon is simply explained by the limitations of our vision. Add a zoom lens and the ship miraculously reappears on this flat, motionless earth plane. It's merely an optical illusion, just as the apparent convergence of distant railroad tracks.

The Greeks turned it around to demonstrate the fact of a global Earth. As you sail toward a coast, it's the top of the mountains that first appear, and then as you get closer, the lower parts of the mountains appear.
