And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. (2 Peter 1:5-10)
Apart from saving faith there are seven virtues that we are to add to our faith Each of these virtues are part of the Seven church ages. Listed and equated as follows.
Virtue=Ephesus, (Etymology= "permitted")
Knowledge=Smyrna, (Etymology= "Myrrh")
Temperance=Pergamum (Etymology= "Height or elevated Tower")
Patience=Thyatira (Etymology= "0dor of affliction")
Godliness=Sardis (Etymology= "Red ones")
Brotherly Kindness= Philadelphia (Etymology=Brotherly Love)
Charity/Agape= Laodicea (Etymology= "Justice of the People")
The final stage of this progressive revelation of the Church is the eighth, the age of the saints who are all marked by Agape Love, each progressive revelation adds to the next and completes the full Picture of Christ formed in us.
In faith, we are Permitted to sin But choose virtue over sin, This in turn leads to persecution which is a sweet savor in the nostrils of God, When Persecution fails Power is given, and a strong tower to rule over, this seduction is overcome by humility/tempering that power. Affliction follows those who stand against this tower, Thyatira is the Longest of the Church ages hence the patience taught by this, Marked by the "dark ages". Those who have endured the affliction rise up as red ones, and seek to reform what has caused their affliction, a reference to them being scourged. Brotherly Love for all who have endured is born of that, and the connection and etymology are obvious, this is a reaching out to all who have been oppressed by these religious spirits in the missionary movements. This in turn brings Justice for the People, which is to say A Love that encompasses even our enemies, God's love perfected in us, It is from these overcomers the saints of revelation arise, and stand in the gap for the people against the beast and his onslaught as a testimony of the work of the Holy Ghost in them and the effectiveness of the Blood of the lamb, it is this testimony that leads to Satan being cast down to earth. (Revelation 12:10-11)
This is How the progressive Revelation to the church has occurred in History. Each of these ages are one of the seven Spirits of God manifesting in the true church. Each is then attacked by the adversary accordingly, and each must and will overcome by the will of God. We living in the endtimes in the last age have the benefit of this History and hindsight to help us along to see this, the seduction we will face is the same as Christ faced from the adversary in the wilderness of the three seductions and the return to "normalcy" if we worship the beast. We overcome as Christ overcame.
Pray for discernment about what I have written here. this is the vision The Holy Ghost has given me of where we are at and where we are headed, there will be those who fall away from this call and those who embrace it, and I believe we are at the doorstep of the end of the Laodicean Church age and the beginning of the formation of the age of the saints.
God Bless.
