1. a son.
2. (of animals) a colt, etc.
3. (broadly) a descendant.
{used very widely of immediate, remote or figuratively, kinship}
[apparently a primary word]
KJV: child, foal, son
notice the "
Son" in red, verse 31, and Capitalized as in the rich man and Lazarus the beggar, Luke 16:25 "But Abraham said,
Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented."
here as well as in the rich man and the begger, "
Son" is
G5043 τέκνον teknon (tek'-non) n.
a child (as produced).
[from the base of G5098]
KJV: child, daughter, son
Root(s): G5088
Even one fell from grace
spiritually, died
spiritually, and was lost
spiritually, yet he was a G5207 υἱός huios (hwiy-yos'). that never changed, until the end in Luke 15:31, (the prodigal son), and Luke 16:25, (the rich man and the begger).
Only the one at home went the way of Cain, or after the flesh. I'm reminded of Galatians 4:29.
