Hi there,

So I am not sure where to take this belief, but the Holy Spirit has come to reveal to me, that His soul dwelt in the flesh of Christ. When Jesus died on the Cross and was speared, blood and water coming out of His side, was a sign that the Holy Spirit's soul was leaving His body. This is what it means when it says the three (of the godhead) are one. Jesus heeded the Word and became flesh and dwelt among us, under the power of the Holy Spirit to bring the flesh to life! There is power in this!

When we address Christ as if He is going to do something for us, actually He does not have His own soul, that He might do that. That's because we are asking from a position of selfishness. We are asking as if His soul will give power to ours, when we should be praying in the power of the Holy Spirit. If the Holy Spirit can bring Jesus' flesh to life, then surely the words of our faith in us can be brought to life in the soul of the Holy Spirit. When Jesus says "may they be one" He means "may they have one soul".

Just remember that when Christ started to bring you to life, with the power of the Holy Spirit, what He was doing was empowering you to live by your word, with His Holy Spirit's soul in you. When you are praying for others to be converted, you are praying that the Holy Spirit's soul be in them - that they also live by their word. God is able to move through the soul of the Holy Spirit, if we have the soul of the Holy Spirit in abudance, all things from God are ours!

I hope this has been of some encouragement.

God bless.

My advice is to let the Bible interpret itself, since God inspired it. I mean that you tend to read interpretations into verses that the rest of the Scriptures do not support. A famous Bible interpreter once said wisely, "Go as far as the Bible goes; then, stop." I agree. Don't be so sure that the Holy Spirit is giving you every thought. It just might be your letting your reasoning take over instead of God's Word. Pray for God's gifts.

The Lord gives me doors to scripture which no man can shut.

I appreciate that you are invested in scripture meaning a certain thing, my experience is that Jesus did more than this - He challenged people who believed in Him.

If you want to pray for me, pray that my character would change for the better, because of how I interpret the scripture.

Jesus challenged the Pharisees and Sadducees' bad interpretations of the Scriptures, not the Scriptures themselves, which he helped to inspire. You are on my prayer list for what you request. May God bless you abundantly in your quest for true knowledge solidly based only on God's Word. I suggest that you find a small Bible discussion group in your church with whom you can fellowship around the Word. I have one. God might help you in your desire through them.

We have souls. God creates souls within us, not that He has one. It is the Holy Ghost that dwells in us. The 'soul' of the HG is unbiblical

Please don't stray much from the Bible's own wording about God, because there is a lot of mystery in him that we cannot know, because he is God and we're not.

By saying that God has a soul, you are straying from the Bible's teaching, because God created Adam, breathed into him, and made him a living soul or person. By saying what the Bible does not, your reason puts you outside of the Bible's teachings.

but the Holy Spirit has come to reveal to me, that His soul dwelt in the flesh of Christ.

Sorry but you are being deceived.
The Trinity is made up of three beings.

God the Father, God the Son and God the Spirit.

It is not possible for God the Spirit to dwell in God the Son.

Jesus did not need the Spirit in him, he could commune with his Father because of the nature of their relationship.
Jesus still had his ability as God to do miracles.

So why should the Spirit live in him and why should it leave him at death, surely if the Spirit was performing a role he would be needed for the resurrection.

If not needed why was he indwelling Jesus?

This is a clear case of where Any message should.d be compared with scripture and if it does not agree with scripture be rejected.

God as the Trinity is three Persons but also ONE God. He does everything together (creation, salvation, and sanctification).

Jesus was 100% man and 100% God all that the same time... HE had His own soul, but He yielded to the leading of the Holy Spirit at all times with perfection never once failing to do what the Father was leading Him to do thru the Holy Spirit.

I agree, Dan! The three Persons of the Trinity are one God, who works together always.

Not to even mention the Trinity is to tear the "guts" out of the heart of the Christian faith. I've recommended that they delete the accounts of argumentative people rather than censoring topics, especially Christian ones. If I am censored, so be it. I will leave.
You have been warned brother.

I am actually glad I come across your post ChristinaL because I have been curious as to the unbiblical nature of the LORD having a soul because the scriptures mention his soul.

For example heres one that can be found in both OT and NT for a better comparison

OT Hebrew

Isaiah 42:1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect,
in whom my soul (nephesh ) delighteth; I have put my spirit (ruwach ) upon him:
he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.

NT Greek

Mat 12:18 Behold my servant, whom I have chosen;
my beloved, in whom my soul (psyche ) is well pleased: I will put my spirit (pneuma) upon him,
and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles.

In the above example it mentions both soul and spirit between them.

There are more verses, heres a few more in the OT

The LORD's soul (nephesh)

Judges 10:16 And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served the LORD: and his soul (nephesh) was grieved for the misery of Israel.

Jerm 5:9 Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: and shall not my soul (nephesh) be avenged on such a nation as this?

And again, the LORD's soul (nephesh) shown in contrast to his spirit (ruwach) and bring in Jesus

Isaiah 42:1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul (nephesh) delighteth; I have put my spirit (ruwach) upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.

Jesus soul (nephesh) shown here

Isaiah 53:10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul (nephesh) an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

Nothing too exhaustive here but the LORD mentioning his soul and that of him making the soul of Jesus an offering for sin are both shown in the scripture.

Would you still consider this unbiblical given the scriptures in the above?
