grace is a gift a free one given to those who will recive it,

an inheritance is what a father has that is passed down to His son, and do you know who His sons are,

Rom_8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Heb_12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
Heb_12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

good point, but it does seem almost perverse that dogs are vilified in the Book, when we can find many of the qualities most desired in a follower of Christ portrayed in dogs, don't you think?

Not perverse. Beautiful. Dogs also lick Lazarus sores.. They lick the blood of Jezebel (I think, I will have to check that one). Dogs are unclean and are indeed found undesirable. Yes, He bore those marks of undesirable and so shall we. The thing is most of us are conned by the world into thinking we are something More than we are and we won't associate with dogs. God paints a beautiful picture of truth and then we are offended.

so you say, but you cannot quote this imo; it has to be inferred. I am even inclined to agree, don't get me wrong, but i defer bc then the next step is identifying them, see. Treat everyone like you are supposed to, and let God decide who His sons are imo

i would even debate the "many are called, but few are chosen" interp that is so popular; the one where the few come out of the many? that is prolly not what that is saying at all, but rather IDing two different groups. The John Baptists of the world v the Pauls, iow; tho Paul may not fit there, dunno.

Yes i have seeing many that where called that have rejected their call. there was even on on this forum once, who are no longer is with us, to use Jesus words, "he is a hard one", and you would never suspect who it was. There are probably others who visit this forum who read and say nothing, they are there waiting for there time,

I do have to clarify; when I said He was undesirable and we become the same. I didn't mean undesirable for doing wrong, but undesirable for doing good. Opposite of what we once were. I hope that makes sense

i continue to wonder why we debate this, when Scripture asks "who then, can be saved?"

and we can observe that only 2 out of like 1000000 made it into the Promised Land.

They did not enter into their inheritance= Promised land.
But ,I do not think they all "went to hell"...they were God's people!!

But, we each must believe what we believe , and what we think we see in the scriptures that God is saying 'to us'. :)

Jesus said the gate is narrow and few there be that find it.
It's not so easy as some believe either. Then I'm called a worker, but I'm not. Jesus said we are to do what He commanded. He commanded a lot.

We are all God's children. We're here because of Him.
But we are not all God's sons.
We have to want to be a son and choose God over the enemy.

I see where you are going with this. And you have convinced me that there is a difference between, being called and chosen. Are all men called? Is the gospel preached to all so there is no excuse?

But, I wouldn't agree "God has lots of children, but not many sons."

We are either a child of God. Or a child of Satan. We are either of darkness. Or light. I don't know of a gray area, or dim area in-between.

Those verses pertain to sons: that do have the Spirit, that do receive chastening, that do have a captain of their Salvation. How does that prove God has many children, but few sons? You are claiming God lost or abandoned some of His children by the wayside? And only a "few" of His children were chosen.

I may be seriously wrong but I know God is a God of the impossible. I believe He (the LORD) returned to the wilderness where He prepared a table in the presence of His enemies. But nobody wants to hear that.

If we are created by God, we are children of God.
We are made in His image. We have some of His attributes.
Children have the attributes of their parents. They are children of their parents.

Then, as some point, children must decide to pick up THEIR responsibility and become sons or daughters.

Sons and daughters are saved and are of God.
Even though God created us and we are all His children.

No. There is no scripture for this. It was taught to me by a church.
And I agree with it.
