Only in so much as they don't contradict the laws of God. There was once a law in America that required the return of all runaway slaves to their former owners. If a slave turned up at your doorstep and asked for a bed for the night and a meal, would you have turned him over to his owner?
I can't find that in the Bible can you give me the scripture you are referencing?
I don't put my faith in man....I only trust God's Will and purpose....I honor God by being obedient to His Word....I do have my personal thoughts towards leaders and sometimes I have to repent for passing my own judgment against them.....
Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.
— Romans 13:1
Jesus answered [speaking to Pilate], “You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above.”
— John 19:11
By me kings reign…
— Proverbs 8:15
…he removes kings, and sets up kings…
— Daniel 2:21
Then God removed Saul and made David their king…
— Acts 13:22
No one … can exalt themselves. It is God who judges: He brings one down, he exalts another.
— Psalms 75:6-7
…the Most High has power over human kingdoms. He gives them to whomever he wishes.
— Daniel 4:17
The Bible not only teaches that God appoints our leaders, it also says
he controls their behavior:
The king’s heart is like a stream of water directed by the LORD; he guides it wherever he pleases.
— Proverbs 21:1
But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart and he would not listen to Moses and Aaron…
--Exodus 9:12
Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every human authority…
— 1 Peter 2:13
Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves… For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.
— Romans 13:2-5
This is the only scripture in the Bible where it addresses kings and princes set up without His consent....and the result was a God's wrath.
They set up kings without my consent; they choose princes without my approval.
— Hosea 8:4
So as for me I will honor God by being obedient to His Word and pray for our leaders.....
I have been through a few presidencies now in my lifetime and the biases and prejudices are the same today as they were then....nothing changes.....Democrats hate the republican presidents and Republicans hate the democrat presidents....and both strive to discredit the POTUS through scandal and slander... 2 presidents were hated so much that they were assassinated....and both of them were assassinated because of their agenda towards the black race. Lincoln for abolishing slavery and Kennedy for pushing the Civil Rights Act..
I wasn't going to respond but I keep trying to express the importance of being obedient to God's Word on the matter. At this point, do whatever you want. It isn't going to change God's mind....and if Trump is re-elected it is because that's who God chose to be in power....work out your own salvation.
