I call it the religion of the Old Testament. I believe that because most people don't know the difference between the two " judaisms" they think that today's jews are following the same old covenant as Israel did. We know nothing can be farther from the truth.
That is correct.

Sorry but my God is not blessing this state of perpetual wars of genocide and destruction. God wants us to love one another. Not remove a race of people from off the face of the earth.
Did your God drown all but 8 on Earth "making them an example"? Did He burn Sodom alive? Did He send Lions to kill those who didn't fear Him? Did He create the EVERLASTING Hell fire? Or do you have a god?

If you want to better understand both Christianity and Judaism?

I recommend this pastor/teacher.

He was the only pastor my Jewish father (who at one point disowned me for my faith) would listen to, and highly respected.

This pastor taught accurate Judaism as it applied to Jesus and the early Church.
Also, at one time many pastors would order his lessons for their own private study.

grace and peace...........
I will check out the website. I have been a student of the Bible for 28 years now. It's always interesting to see a new ministry or teacher.

So if you don't mind me asking, what did you think of their most authoritive book, the talmud?

It is kind of deep topic, but I can either sum it up in two words or write a book about it. The two words sad and disappointment. To understand the Talmud you need to know the reason for the Talmud. How would you feel if everything you believed about Christianity was proven wrong? Or you completely misunderstood Christianity and it was your fault?

The Jews potentially had it all. They came from the Holy Seed and were Yahweh's favorite. And they "messed" it up at every turn. Salvation could have come to them with Moses but they failed. So they would have to wait for centuries for another chance. They waited centuries for their Messiah and then were responsible for His death. Crucify Him! Crucify Him! Let is blood be on us and our children! They actually cursed themselves. For 1800 years they were hated by the world and just about every Christian country kicked them out. During the witch-hunts they were treated like witches.

They were conquered by their enemies and both of the Temples were destroyed. From their perspective the destruction of the Temples meant their God.....Almighty God had been defeated by their enemies. Things were going from bad to worse and they knew it was their fault. Hard to recover from that. The Jews were not big on faith, which was another failure for them.

The Talmud was written in an attempt to restore faith in their religion and make adjustments in relation to the Torah.

You're missing the point....

What is the title of this thread?

To understand Christianity, you must understand Judaism.

That is why I posted what I had.

It is another aspect of Grace.
[..shortened..]
These are just a few of the scriptures that say that Yeshua sits to right of Yahweh.
Thank you yet again for the in-depth explanation. The right hand place of the Father is quite an important expression in the bible it seems. The farizees reacted to Jesus’ expression about it with complete anger. In our times we use that expression for being someones premium help or the executive branch of some company or person, “he’s the right hand of the big chief” etc. . In the bible it has that, but also has the connotation of Grace.

Furthermore I see some people are quite averse against Israel and Judaism, but remember that the Israel / Israelites today are not the same as the term used in the bible. And judaism didn’t exist back then, at least not until the mid or later part of the OT. Before that it was Hebrews/ tribe Israelites.

Interesting perspective. To many others, the reason why jews were treated the way they were was because of their actions, which has everything to do with the talmud. The witch hunts were most likely related to their other book, the zohar, which contains the kabbalah, which is literally wizardry or occult practices.

When you said:
"The Talmud was written in an attempt to restore faith in their religion and make adjustments in relation to the Torah."

It actually became a lot more than that. If the talmud was just a book of adjustments to the old testament laws and ordinances, fine. Whatever you want to do , it's your religion.
But the problem, the very big problem is what it teaches towards the non- jew.

If your religion teaches you that because you are " gods chosen people" you have supremacy over all other people, that they in fact are a lower species, that could cause problems.

If your religion teaches you that it is perfectly justified if you decieve, financially oppress ( usury) or illegitimately aquire property from a non- jew (which your religion teaches that all property is yours to begin with), that could cause problems.

If your religion teaches you absolute hatred towards Jesus Christ and His followers, that could cause very big problems ( as the history of Europe will attest).

So my perspective, along with many others ( you should read Martin Luther's book on this very subject) might be more historically correct.
I do not believe they were expelled over a thousand times from 109 countries (in the course of 1500 years) because the host country allowed them in just to wake up one morning and get angry with them. It must have been something they did, in other words.

Well, it was something they did. With the instructions from their religious books, they found their way into a country usually by offering their financial services or merchandise to a government while inter mingling with the influential families, and over time bringing that government and it's people into total collapse while they attempt to reap all of it's wealth.
In Europe many people started to catch on but it seems that they just couldn't resist what the jews had to offer ( this is what happens when we fall away from Christ). They not only instigated many wars, but financed both sides.

That is a very brief synopsis ( not even examining Communism) of what I find to be the most fascinating people in the history of the world.

Once a people of God that served Him to a people that rejected Him and eventually becoming a people not even related to Him (ancient Israel and it's religion).

But praise be to God. There will always be the remnant saved by grace!

Romans 11:7 KJV
What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded

Romans 9:27,29 KJV
Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved:

Isaiah 1:4,7,9 KJV
Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.
[7] Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.
[9] Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.

Romans 9:29:
And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.

Romans 11:5 KJV
Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

We always have to remember that the ten " lost" tribes had nothing to do with the development of post temple judaism. They, in fact, become " the many nations" that are blessed of Abraham. Christians , if you will.

The Father is God.
Having no second nature in union.
The Farther is God (Deity) alone.

Jesus is God the Father, being expressed to men and angels as a man having access to fully knows God would. Deity + Human Soul.

Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time?
Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? John 14:9

The Holy Spirit is God the Father being expressed to men and angels as an angel would who fully knows God. Deity + Angelic Spirit.

As here:
But the angel of Jehovah called out to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!”
“Here I am,” he replied.
“Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him.
Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from
me your son, your only son.” Genesis 22:11-12

Jesus came to earth as God, as a man would express God's nature.
But, before the church age dispensation existed?
The Angel of Jehovah was God's physical manifestation.
Who before man was created, originally appeared to the angels as the Angel of Jehovah.
The Angel of God appeared in the OT as an angel in union with God.
In parallel.. Just as Jesus appearing to humans was a human in union with God.

At first what I explained may seem a wee bit complex.

But what I was shown? And have tried to show here?
Makes it easier to better understand the function of the Trinity of God.

LOL
The fact that Yeshua is the begotten Son of Yahweh. Yeshua says "My Father" fifty times....might try reading the Bible some time, and pay attention. Humor slap.
And there are no J's in the scriptures and no one knows where the word Jesus came from it just appeared in the 16th century.

There is definitely a transition. Yahwist...."Hebrew".....Isrealite......Jew.....one of the sects of modern Jews.

The full story, it had something to do with the Talmud.....

But the problem, the very big problem is what it teaches towards the non- jew.

Then and today the Rabbis took the Talmud more seriously. The American Jews could pretty much careless.
There are 613 Mosaic Laws and by the end of the 1st century there was so much they could not do that they had to make adjustments.
If your religion teaches you that because you are " gods chosen people" you have supremacy over all other people, that they in fact are a lower species, that could cause problems.

Ya you are right, but that was what they were taught. Part of the Mosaic Law.....attack Pagans and kill all that breaths and kill all the male children and non-virgin women and take and do what you wish with the virgins.

If your religion teaches you absolute hatred towards Jesus Christ and His followers, that could cause very big problems ( as the history of Europe will attest).

Well they are kind of like we are......Some Christians hate Jews and some Jews hate Christians.

Expelled or killed or put in ghettos.

Well, it was something they did. With the instructions from their religious books, they found their way into a country usually by offering their financial services or merchandise to a government while inter mingling with the influential families, and over time bringing that government and it's people into total collapse while they attempt to reap all of it's wealth.

There is some truth to that but I do not think they instigated too many wars......but they paid the price with the Germans.

We always have to remember that the ten " lost" tribes had nothing to do with the development of post temple judaism. They, in fact, become " the many nations" that are blessed of Abraham. Christians , if you will.

They did not become many nations.....Odds are they were dealt with according to the Assyrians traditions of prisoners of war.

Begotten... NOT created.

Do you know the difference?

All things created were created through the Son. Colossians 1:16

Time is a creation.
In order to create time?
He had to be existing before time was created.

Begotten means eternally begotten.
Uniquely begotten.
Outside of time.
Before time existed.
Having no beginning.

It is mind-boggling to think about.
But the Son and the Father always were existing.

That is why the Jews wanted to stone Jesus when they said he claimed to be God when he said...
Before Abraham was born I Am.

In John 8:58 Jesus was referring to what God called Himself. The Great "I Am."
Jesus replied, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, before Abraham was born, I Am.”

The Greek means Jesus was claiming to always have existed!

That is why we read in the next verse (John 8:59) that the Jews wanted to stone Him.
Why stone him?
For He was claiming to be God.

It is a good thing when you can find a competent teacher who knows the original languages.
I found mine.

You are still like a fish out of the water.

Who compiled the "Book of the Law" that Moses wrote and was taught among the people?
And the Prophets and the Psalms and the other non Torah books?
What is the difference between the Torah and the Talmud?
Is Judaism the combination of all law and prophets and psalm's?

Hugs

Begotten... NOT created.

Do you know the difference?

Beget and begot, same thing.
  • Beget: This is the base form of the verb, meaning to procreate or generate, commonly used to refer to a father producing offspring.
  • Begot: This is the simple past tense of "beget," indicating that the action of procreation has already occurred.
Yeshua is the Son of Yahweh. Yahweh impregnated Miriam and she delivered a God.

It is mind-boggling to think about.
But the Son and the Father always were existing.

Some believe that and it seems that New Testament suggest that.
But Yahweh in the Old Testament said several times.....I am the only God and there is no one like me.
I go with Yahweh on this.....I do not get into rewriting history.

You are still like a fish out of the water.

LOL
