Um, If you read the beginning of a 2nd chapter, you'll see that it summarises the 6 days of creation... Genesis 21Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. 2And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. 4These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens, 5And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. 6But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. 7And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. 8And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. 9And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.The races of mankind was created on the sixth day. First we hear of Adam the Hebrew is very specific that this is "THE MAN" a different type man with the breath(spirit of God breathed into him)then God goes on to tell us how he created a Garden for this man to live in.Could it be that this was a speacial line of Man.? Well, if I recall, you had asked the question as to why the Garden of Eden was guarded. (Then why were its gates guarded?) I merely pointed out that it wasn't until sin that it was guarded. I think that it had something to do with sin and keeping the tree of life undefiled from sin. (Genesis 3:24)

I did not ask YOU questions, just wanted to hear people's opinion and point of view! No facts here because we all can read same verse and have 3 different intrprentaions. Oh Jody, In the beginnig God created a world that was once perfect and there was no ruins back then. After Lucifer rebelled his Father...Lucifer grabbed One-Third of the angels with him. He sinned. God ended that was once perfect. God destroyed it with another flood. (First Earth Age) A flood before Noah's. There was no man...no birds. (so no flesh of us was there) It was not yet a full end. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.Jody, between those bible verses, there are a time gap.In the Second Age which is now, (II Peter 3:7) before the fall of mankind (sin) God restored it starting and stating at Genesis 1:3 till the end of Genesis 1.We have the Word of God. The Word of God is truth. In English is a good amount of knowledge in there. In Hebrew, and in Greek, it is much more. The Word of God in original language goes on a deeper level...in fact there levels are very very deep. I first heard of this teaching in the Dakes translation of the Holy Bible, this theory does seem to make the earth alot older.
