No...i do not keep the decalogue under Moses, but rather under Christ;
Moses in the OT gave way to Joshua....a type, of the new Exodus in Jesus
Hebrews 3
King James Version
3 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;
2 Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.
3 For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house.
4 For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.
5 And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;
6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.
7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,
8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.
11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)
12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
Iconoclast, please read this all as I really would like you to understand where I'm coming from, and what I see as the gospel of the New Covenant. From what I've seen in you, it seems you think what I believe is impossible. But I don't, because I experienced the extreme change in my nature in 1977.
One difference I see is that the Ten Commandments IS the Old Covenant.
Ex. 34:28
28 So he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.
But there is a higher Law than these, that the Ten Commandments were based on, BUT did not completely fulfill because the Ten Commandments was just the final action, but the iniquity could still be in the heart. This is why we must be born again of the Spirit to kill the iniquity lying beneath at the very core of us. This is the gospel - the good news. No longer do we have to struggle with sin when the Spirit baptizes us with fire. No longer do we have to try with our willpower to keep laws in our mind that are contrary to our sinful nature. At last sin is removed so that the righteous requirements of the Law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh any longer, but by the Holy Spirit. We are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit if the powerful Spirit of God dwells within us. And if the Spirit of Christ does not dwell within us, we do not belong to Him.
That higher Law is to "Love God with all your strength, mind and heart. And love your neighbor as yourself." The commandments of Jesus and His New Covenant fulfill this higher law, and are easy to keep because of the creation of a new nature in us that automatically established every other law from the past, including the Ten Commandments, even the Sabbath as we rest in Jesus and abide in Him. And by the way, the Cup of the New Covenant is its sign. 1 Cor. 11:25
1 John 3:23-24
23 And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment. 24 Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.
