Faith is to Believe.

God accepts our faith to give us "the Gift of Salvation"

Now having this eternal gift, we live our lives for God., as this is our "reasonable service" of "presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice to God"...

But never do we do this to try to be saved or to try to stay saved.

= "only JESUS...saves".
Then lets tell that to the false all inclusive love folks .
Itsrather odd to me that i see so many reminding certain folks who actually correct sin
and remind ones to be hearers and doers about beliving in JESUS
and yet many seem to give other religoins and rainbows a pass . rather odd indeed . truly its rather odd indeed.
ITs almost like folks are using JESUS as a scape goat for to SIN and then after they rebuke those would correct
THEY GIVE THE UNBELIEVERS , like muslims and other false religoins a GET OUT FREE PASS TO NOT EVEN HAVE TO BELEIVE
on JESUS AS THE CHRIST TO BE SAVED. I SEE LOTS OF HYPROCRISY These days . WOULD you agree .

If what you cited were automatic for those who believe?

Paul would have had no need to tell them how to live.

What does telling a person how to live have to do with God imputing to us his sons righteousness?
I was not quoting you. Did you note what that person implied in what was stated?

"Now having this eternal gift, we live our lives for God., as this is our "reasonable service" of "presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice to God"...

That sounds like it speaks of an automatic response once one is saved.

I say that because there are people who at some point in their life chose to believe in Jesus. If you were to see them years later?
That attitude cited? If assumed to be automatically true? Would prompt one to think of those not presenting their bodies as a living sacrifice were never saved.

That is why I said Paul needed to tell them what was expected of them now that they were saved.

grace and peace .......

Which is first by having imparted righteousness through hearing of faith. It is only by doing His righteousness are we righteous as He is.

Having impart righteousness is not doing anything, nor is partaking of His divine nature.

Having righteousness without doing it, once again, is just a changed mind about sin, but not a changed heart from sinning.
We're not even going to be able to do true righteousness without first having it imparted to us. It's a huge understatement to say that it does a LOT. We've become a new creation....one that is created after the image of He who created it, created in righteousness and holiness. (Col 3:10, Eph 4:24) Not to be taken lightly but always thanking God for it.......we've passed from death to life, from darkness to light. It's not our own righteousness, but HIS.

However we can make our tree corrupt again if we make a practice of sinning. Either make the tree good or make it corrupt, by our fruit, by how we live.

Forgiveness, is eternal, through the Cross of Christ..

However, having forgiveness, is not a license to abuse God's Grace.

If you do that, ..... if you abuse it, by living carnally, and refusing to turn/stop, then God's hand of discipline will find you... beyond Hebrews 12:6

And what He does, is... He will bring a situation into your world that you can't escape, and you have to endure it, and once you are processed by it, you are changed. = Inwardly.

See, the born again, are a part of God.... We are birthed by the Holy Spirit, into the Holy Spirit, and "GOD IS A Spirit".

However, we have a mind, and we have a body, and we have desires, cravings, and this stuff has to be disciplined so that it does not control you.

Part of that discipline, the most important part, is not trying to be good.......but rather its understanding who you are "in Christ" as that knowledge is the Key to deliverance from "SELF"., where all the carnal issue are found.
