Language usage. “I heard from Person X” is not what person X says about themselves but someone else. If it’s is my idea, I’ll just say that. Otherwise, one would say “I heard from keithr.”

Also, here, Jesus tells the truth, he is a man. That’d be an odd thing for God to say, wouldn’t it? This is especially in light of him emphasizing telling us the truth, right?
