What is the book of Revelation about to you?
They were marked by God and unset aside. The two witnesses evangelize many Jews however, it is not, clear that
Is it mainly about the end of our world or is there a more meaningful deeper message?
Is it a literal interpretation or a more greater deeper spiritual symbolic meaning?
Why was it given back in the first century if it was about events in the far future?
Why was it given to the seven first century church’s if it was about the far future?
What are your thoughts and the I will give to my thoughts?
Thanks
It is about things that were, things that are and things to come. It starts out with an over view of the first century church, a mixed bag of good and evil. Five churches receive rebuke and warnings to repent; only two are faithful. These seven churches are also church types that exist throughout the Church Age. We can see faithful Christians and churches and others that have corruption.
The Seals, Trumpets and Bowls are exclusive to the end of the Church Age, know as the Great Tribulation, a period of 3 1/2 years. This is the end of the world as we know it, The evil world system. Jesus returns and judges the planet of non-believers. The Church, as it always has, suffers though some of this because it also acts as a test of their faith. I believe the Church is raptured/resurrected at the Seventh (last)Trumpet sound just prior to the release of The Seven Bowls of God's wrath.
After the GT is over, sin and evil is banished for 1000 years and Jesus rules His Kingdom in Jerusalem. Only Christians live on earth until the end, and then Satan is released once again to test those people who were born during this period.
So if the Church is resurrected and receives new eternal bodies, who repopulates the planet? Imho, the remnant Jews who did not take the mark of the Beast but were not believers in Jesus until they saw Him. Every eye sees Him and they realize that He is the true Messiah they have been waiting for all along. (see Romans 11). But since they were too late to experience the First resurrection, they will have to wait for the second resurrection at the end of the Millennial Kingdom.
What happens then? The Great White Throne Judgment, only this is not Long drawn out period as with the GT. God resurrects all dead unbelievers to judge them and cast them into the Lake of Fire. This is what is meant by Death and Hades being cast into the Lake of Fire. The first earth and heavens burn in a fervent heat (2 Pet. 3:10) and a New Jerusalem is seen coming down from heaven. Thus is really the new heaven and earth as one. All former things have passed away and so no more pain and suffering. Sin, evil, Satan and His demons are finally destroyed. The New Jerusalem is huge, and eternal.
