Since I was healed in the hospital in 1977 by a pastor's prayer, I can categorically state that the gifts did not go out when the last apostle died.
I did not mean to say God doesn't heal today.
James says to call for the elders for prayer. Then he said anoint with oil. Back then the oil was used as medicinal purpose. Actually James was saying, pray about it and go to the doctor.

Its funny that only the gifts that are easy to fake is the only ones still around. Healing.
Why dont someone raise the dead.
The gifts were signs to theearly church. Same as tongues.
The apostles didnt have the KJV to carry around. They had signs. Today we have the word.

My healing wasn't faked! I was hospitalized with asthma and the doctors couldn't break the spasm. The pastor came to my room and prayed, "Jesus, heal this man". The spasm broke immediately. There was nothing fake about it at all. And shortly thereafter, I prayed for the gift of tongues and immediately received my prayer language.

God's gifts are greater than your unbelief.

Again.....
I did not say God stopped healing.
We can go to him directly and ask for healing. If you need a pastor fine. But God does the healing whether pastor is there or not. If its his will to begin with. But as far as someone like the Apostles coming along and healing,it wont happen. Those tv healers are fakes. As far as tongues today,it all nonsensical gibberish.

Your unbelief is of no concern to me, and shouldn't be to anyone else.

Who are you to judge what is fake and what isn't? God can heal and perform other miracles when, where, and how He chooses.

And your comment about tongues further shows the weakness of your faith. I speak in tongues very often, sometimes daily, and have done so for 50 years. It may be ":gibberish" to you but it isn't to God.

What makes a doctrine false?

Please quote what you would like to respond to. Thanks.

1. You've never heard it before. (knee-jerk defensive response)

2. You have heard of it before, but assume it's false. (haven't looked into it)

3. Doesn't align with your church's doctrine (your church would say it is false)

4. Doesn't align with your personal doctrine (your views differ)

5. Your Bible says it is false. (other biblical opinions don't matter)

6. It makes you uncomfortable. (therefore it must be wrong)

7. Everyone knows it's false. (except those who believe it)
#5 is the only standard to judge true from false. all the rest are counterfeit standards.

I would say a doctrine is false if it contradicts something God or Jesus say in the Bible.

I think if it doesn't pass the bible test then it might be false.

The Lord's commandments are rather easy to understand, aren't they?
Sure.
How are you doing on your list?

Matthew 10:8 NIV
Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy,[a]
drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give.

There you have it. There are no such things as "biblical opinions". It is either Bible truth or a lie.
Is salvation by grace alone, or by works alone, both, or neither?
The Bible supports all four biblical opinions.

A complete quote might be helpful.

From the OP:
"5. Your Bible says it is false. (other biblical opinions don't matter)"

Good idea for an edit. Thanks.

5. YOUR "Bible" says it is false. (other biblical opinions don't matter)

Right. And ALL Bibles are the perfect word of God.
Exactly.
In a sense, every Bible translation is a complete Biblical opinion in itself.
If none are exactly the same, which one is "the inerrant Word of God"?
I guess the KJO crowd answered that for us. - LOL
