Drinking yourself to death is slow suicide. What edge exists? That your precious baby brother died?
How is that your responsibility?

Well, I suppose it isn't really. But when you're the older brother, you take on that responsibility. There's nothing I could have done to save him. I know this. But even so, I was his big bro, and I wasn't able to protect him.

Your baby brother is in a far better place than this world. He loved you then and as your blood sibling he is always with you.

But we are here. We have to deal with the day to day stuff. As much as therr Lord suffered, and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy, he got to go home. But we don't. At least not right away. We have to deal with all of the suffering of life.

Walking in victory is what Jesus did when He lived in this dark sin filled world, and so should we.

Even Jesus wept in gethsemane - he showed and felt emotions and asked that the cup be taken from him, but he was willing to do his father’s will. That night he was in an emotional battle.

Again, that was Jesus' mission to lay down His life unto death for the sins of the world.

PRIOR to that, and AFTER that, Jesus walked in absolute victory in every aspect of His life.

Christians should be doing the same!

My post was more linked to your comment about always walking in victory, sorry but in that moment Jesus was being human - now we know he didn’t sin, so it is not sinful to battle with our emotions. When we give in and makes choices that is when it can cross a line , but even then it is not without redemption.
Jesus was also driven by compassion, grief at times, and with anger and frustration when he cleared the temple. Emotions are part of who we are, and who He was , situations impacted Jesus. We are not robots and unaffected by the circumstances that we may each find ourselves in, and often as not we come to faith with baggage that needs unpacking.
Jesus came alongside people, he talked to them and understood them.
