What if you have never encountered a window that has been painted shut, and you presumed it was just stiff , especially if he had not even noticed that it had been painted shut. Obvious to you , but not perhaps to everyone.
anyway, not going to argue with you Willie, all I was saying is that the sole responsibility for what happened was not just down to the young man, there were factors that contributed to the accident.

It's good to be able to see things from more than one perspective, yes.

I think the point was that the young man didn't know the window was painted shut, he went to open it and because it was painted shut his hand went through the glass. So , do you not think there is some liability from whoever painted the window shut !?

There's always more than one way to read and understand an account of what happened...

Our son was left with a permanent injury.

I wanted to see a lawyer but didn't push because Scripture tells you to not take another believer to court before unbelievers.

I have pleaded with God for years for justice and have not seen it.

I wondered why someone follows Scripture only to get burned. God did show us that they were punished somewhat, but they never repaid our son for the harm they did. Has anyone else dealt with anything this serious - evil committed against you or a loved one by another believer? I walk close with God but certain things leave me unsettled. It made me think that the proper response all the time isn't just to forgive. I think there has to be more to it.

Not everyone Follows the Lord, whom you think Believes.
(Thus a "title" ie Pastor, youth Pastor, is NOT how you decide IF an other is one of the Lords disciples).

Yes, the first approach over an unsettled matter is TO the person who offended, if that fails, Then to the Chruch, if that fails, Then to Civil Authorities. (Not sure where you understood, to NOT go to Civil Authorities, ie a Court system.)
In any, of ^ those things, do it promptly, and with Facts in hand...not opinions.

Begging and Repeating Asking God for the same thing over and over...is not Taught in Scripture.

Your son, a Permanent disability?
It is God who does the Permanent Healing.

Why do you feel you have no Justice ?
It is God whom doles out Justice.
Trust and Believe...

Scripture teaches, to BE Concerned, about WHAT YOU DO, not what others DO TO YOU.
Forgive others THEIR "Trespasses" Against you.

When a man (person), Agrees TO DRINK from the SAME CUP Jesus DRANK OF....It is not about Drinking wine....and IS specifically about AGREEING, "that Because they Agree, THEY shall EXPECT to BE 'unjustly treated', LIKE JESUS WAS."

Jesus' Way...IS to seek 'what is JUST' from other men...First the offender, then the church, then the civil authorities....
THAT is for "the Offenders": obligation for Reparations "to the one Offended".

Fact IS...not every "Offender" IS Held to Giving "reparations" to the one "offended".

Doesn't matter. The "offended" may not "receive" reparations.
Doesn't matter. The "offended" has the Lords Way, which is to Forgive them their Trespasses, and move on.

What the "other" did to you, IS: handled by the Lord God Himself.

The CUP Jesus drank from, (and Every man IN Christ drinks from)....IS FILLED with the
"INDIGNATION" OF Worldly men.

The CUP God "HAS", is FILLED, with "HIS INDIGNATION" He has TOWARD Worldly men, and SHALL POUR OUT "HIS CUP", of INDIGNATION, upon Worldly men.
(As revealed in Revelations)

That ^ is God Himself, fulfilling His Promise, that Vengeance IS HIS, and He shall Pour out HIS Vengeance upon the men of the World, WHO did the same toward, Christ Jesus and those IN Christ.

Luke 6:
[46] And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

Matt 20:
22: But Jesus answered and said, Ye know not what ye ask. Are ye able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.

Matt 6:
[14] For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
[15] But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Matt 6:
7: For when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Matt 12:
15] But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and hehealed them all;

Romans 12:
19] Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Rev 14:
10] The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

Thanks for reminding me of the scriptural way to handle an issue. We went to them and they told us they would cover the expenses. They lied. They only covered the expenses until the DAY the 2 year statute of limitations expired. I saw how corrupt even so-called "Christians" can be. I recently went to the pastor and relayed the issue and the pastor refused to even answer me. So he's bought and paid for. When I filed the court paperwork they told me it was too late. The youth pastor is a shrewd liar.

God did open my eyes up to the fact that professing Christians can sin as much as unbelievers - in fact, sometimes even worse. I know the effects are worse because you don't expect it.

We're helping our son to see a specialist in the hope that he can help him. It severed the main tendon in his wrist.

God tells us to be like the widow who petitions the unjust judge repeatedly.

I'm still in the process of forgiveness. It's very hard when it's another believer who commits the sin. The youth pastor and his family's reputation is ruined. They had to close their realty business. Their names were dragged into the papers NATIONWIDE for their corruption. So God did pay them back to a degree. I guess I still wanted them to pay for my son's injury.

Wow! They graciously paid all the expenses for two solid years, when they didn't even have to, and you are still complaining? Many insurance companies would have cut you off long before that.

You really should be thanking them and singing their praises. They treated you far better than you may have deserved.

I approach life differently. I figure I deserve the worst and anything less than that is God's mercy. So I always assume I've got it coming when things turn against me. A couple of years back my wife incurred $5,000 in medical bills by tripping over a sign that blew over in front of a local business. I presented them with the medical bills and they declined to pay. So I blessed them in Jesus' name and suffered the loss knowing God sent it for a reason. And I drew closer to him through it.

Gods direction IS to "repay" what transpires between men...of one Traspassing against another.

The "agreement" between men of "the terms of repayment" is between men.

What you ended up with, with "an agreement between men", that ONE ended, by "using civil the law".

Because you did not "use the civil law", the civil law, did not set the TERMS, for repayment, THUS, there is no recourse for you to "NOW", long after the time allotted for you to have "solicited" the Official Keepers of the civil law, FOR them to do so.

Many men MAKE "verbal" agreements to REPAY, and without a COURT ORDER, "terms", agreements....the Court is not bound to AID you, ONCE the LIMITATIONS for your complaint has expired.

In short, you were deceived and tricked, and to you that is a lesson, to be wary of what men to trust. A good idea, to get in Writing, whatever men AGREE to.

And God says, FORGIVE your Trespassors.
Because:
1) IF YOU do, He will FORGIVE your Trespasses.
2) IF YOU are, dwelling on what your Trespassors DID TO YOU....
Your time is spent on THAT ^;
Instead of Praising and DOING WORKS that Glorify Gods Great Name.

Moral ~
Dwelling on what you can not Change, steals your JOY.
Dwelling on the Lord, WHO HAS Changed you, INCREASES your JOY.

Willie - you are looking for a way to harass me because I asked you to stop posting to me on the other thread. What's up with you?

This is not what happened. He only paid about $150. My son needs corrective surgery on his wrist. If we had followed through with a lawyer we would have had the money for him to see a specialist. Now it has to come out of our blood sweat and tears. I went to a lawyer and he actually yelled and said: "You people had a good case here and blew it!" So much for following Christian principles. The youth pastor ran into a woman and killed her. They got into a lot of trouble because of their corruption. They are dishonest people. We're friends with a Christian who worked for them. She left because she said they're so corrupt. She was concerned because they have a church and are misleading a lot of people.

My son works from the time he gets up until late every night. I don't think it was right to put that on him. The realtor has gotten away with a lot - even murder. They did lose their business and a friend told me she thinks it was because of what they did to my son. They hurt a lot of people by what they did. They were sued by a group of people but they're multi-millionaires and hired cutthroat lawyers to get out of it.

You are giving a scenario of ONE never agreeing to Repay.

SoverignGrace was giving a scenario of ONE who DID agree to Repay, and then Stopped.

In your scenario; It was your option; to drop it when the individual make no agreement to Repay. Or to solicit the Civil Authorities to hear the facts, and decide Repayment was Lawful, and Enforcement of Repayment would be Ordered. And the Terms set forth.

Court ORDRERS, do not always mean, Repayment will be forthcoming. Men skirt Court Orders, no differen than they skirt Verbal Agreements to repay.

Scriptural teaching...Forgive those Trespassors who have "heaped their indignation upon you"....God will handle it from there.

God has His CUP of "INDIGATION" prepared to POUR OUT, on those who HAVE "heaped their own cup of indigation upon others".

You're right - I was deceived and tricked. Actually it wasn't me so much as my husband. He was hanging out with them, going to sports, their bible studies - he got chummy with them and was deceived. I warned him to come with me to see a lawyer but he said "I know Jim **** will make good! He's an honorable man!" Famous last words.

My husband was turned off to the church after that. I don't trust now. And I did learn to get things in writing. It was a painful lesson because now our son is left with the damage and tasked with trying to have it repaired. We did find a good doctor though but the co-pays are going to be astronomical. I don't know why God didn't show us - or show my husband - the deception of those people. I had been warned about them by a friend of a relative. My husband was hoodwinked, as was our son.

They had some indignation heaped on them - their names were dragged through the mud - as well they should be. They hurt a lot of people. Just because someone is a Christian doesn't mean they shouldn't be held accountable. It was my family's mistake for being deceived. Hopefully a painful lesson was learned.

Oh wake up. This is the same "misleading" as the other thread. SG certainly immediately had the inclination to run to get a house inspection right away.... but, somehow didn't think to contact a lawyer, when all along, I am sure these "friends" of hers were telling her how supposedly dishonest the realtor was.

Even if no one said anything to her in two years, it is a joke to think they only incurred $150 in doctor and hospital bills in all that time. And, it would never cross their minds that they were not going to be paid if the realtor only covered $150 in all that time? You can be sure that the costs were way up in the thousands within two months.

Yes, I also believe SOMEONE is not telling all the truth here.

I understand what you're saying. I'm working on forgiving - maybe you can pray for me? It's not easy - especially when it's one of your precious children. My children mean everything to me. It hurts that my son is working so many long hours trying to succeed in business. It hurts that he's saddled with having to fix his wrist now. I bought him a microcurrent wrist wrap to see if that helps.

You have something in you that you want to get out against me Willie - so say it out plain! My husband said to stop communicating with you but you don't seem to want to let it rest. You have something in you that is holding a torch against me - IF SO SAY IT OUT. ARE YOU A COP? IS THAT WHY YOU'RE HARASSING ME?

1. I contacted the inspector. I learned the house was not inspected and unfit for rental.
2. I contacted a lawyer and had to convince my husband to go. The lawyer was going to take the case but my husband and son wouldn't go against the youth pastor - they were deceived. I wasn't. I had been warned about the character of the family. I could not, however convince my son and husband.
3. My son and husband learned that the family was not honorable. So did the town. The family hurt a lot of people. I read on a forum from the town that people were angry because they had a fair in the town and that family had a booth and was pushing their "church" after harming so many people.

THIS IS THE LAST I WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU WILLIE. I NEVER REPORT PEOPLE BECAUSE I TRY TO WORK IT OUT. I GAVE YOU THAT OPTION AND ASKED YOU TO PM ME TO WORK IT OUT. YOU REFUSED. YOU WANT TO TRY TO DISCREDIT AND HARASS ME. I'M NOT TALKING TO YOU AGAIN. I REPORTED YOUR HARASSMENT.
