When Jesus "took away" your sin, did He leave behind the source, the sin nature?

Of course a born again does not sin intentional, but what about the not intentional sins.

I just explained that in the post you are responding to. Unintentional sins are immature fruit that you commit while walking in the Spirit. Jesus acts also as the Finisher of our faith maturing the fruit of the Spirit and 1 John 1:7 is only about the cleansing of unintentional sins. Read my post again and see if you can comprehend what I wrote.

Is there such a sin as not doing something. I know the obvious like theft, murder, fornication ect are wrong and really even a non Christian will know this deep down.

But what about not feeding the hungry or helping someone. It seems to me the biggest sin in western Christian nations is not sacrificing all for Gods kingdom. Holding on to this world and being a cultural Christian.

Also I think our sinful nature has something to do with our natural human instincts. Lust stems from our instinct to mate. Its a matter of living in love and the spirit that keeps that instinct in check. Without Gods spirit it can be expressed in evil ways.

The same with gluttony which stems from the natural instinct to seek sustegen to survive. But can become extreme if not overcome. In fact by living completely in the spirit of God we can rise above the physical body such as with fasting or celibacy.

that would be called watering down the law.. they water it down so they can make themselves believe they keep it. when in reality, they have failed.

No one accidently sins unless they do not realise somethign is a sin.. All sin is on purpose..

And what of the flesh? If we are to crucify the flesh daily, by implication, the flesh is still very much alive. Paul made claims to a clear conscience, he also made it quite clear that there was a law in his members that when he desired to do good, evil was ever present.

The soul and spirit have been divided, but they remain housed within the same body of flesh. Treasure in an earthen vessel.

As long as the spirit and soul of man is housed in this body of death, we will continue to sin.

At this moment of writing I can not think of any sin I am guilty of, my conscience is clean. Does this mean I am sinless? Is there any guarantee I will never lose my temper? On both questions my answer is no. I have learned to not trust myself including feelings that may have the power to deceive me which certainly have happened to me in the past.

Actually, yes, it does make you sinless/righteous, as sinlessness has to do with the cleansing of all your PAST willful sins. Does it make you perfect. No, unless all of the fruit of the Spirit have been matured and Jesus has perfected you and you have forgiven everyone who has sinned against you.

You still have free will, and if once righteous/sinless you do not keep abiding in Jesus due to poor choices, and you have not matured in any of the fruit of the Spirit, you are blind and could easily fall into false doctrine and willful sin.

I think it is simple

are we obeying God or are we disobedient.

if we are obeying, we must be doing somethign right.. if not. we need to start loving them over self
