Doing that good work at the expense of the gospel does nothing except sending healthy people to hell. This has nothing to do with the various gifts and roles in the church. Nowhere does it say that those who helped at tables... Supplied food... Nursed the sick and visited prisons, were exempted from preaching the truth. Stephen, the first martyr, was a deacon serving tables, yet he also preached the gospel, even in the face of great opposition.Dear @Backlit
If their role is to serve people in charitable programs, let them do that work.
Maybe it is given to others to do the individual one on one counseling that it takes to teach learn and understand.
What is wrong with different people playing different roles?
The person gifted in plumbing should not waste time and talent trying to teach clarinet. Let the clarinet teacher do that part.
What if we focused on the Good contributions each group specializes in.
It makes more sense to me to feature a Trumpet player on notes they play well.
Not complaining they can't play the flute part. If they aren't designed for that purpose why set them up to fail?
The modern notion, confirmed by the agreement between Catholics and Lutherans a couple of decades ago, that Rome is now more in agreement with Protestant concepts of salvation... Justification and sanctification etc... Is a deception. Rome cannot change, and she never has... notwithstanding the corner wording of those documents. Her gospel is not in accordance to scripture. Scripture had never been the benchmark for Catholic dogma, doctrine, or Canon law.
