It is too bad that Billy Graham decided to merge patriotism with Christianity - he was the first evangelist to do so and we have paid for it ever since.

America is so full of this patriotic Christianity... The armies sent to Iraq are the armies of God

It is carnal reasoning that brings men to such conclusions. Spiritual reasoning shows us, when reading scriptures, that we are a part of a spiritual country, and we are strangers in this land.

I am glad I don't listen watch or listen to these evangelist on the radio or TV. Too many people put too much value in what they say and pretty much ignore the Bible.

These so-call Christians are trying serve two masters. And while they are supporting these soldiers, those same soldiers are committing terror against innocent babies, children, women and men.....they are committing war crimes in their name. I tell you this: Americans are going to suffer terribly for all the atrocities that they have allowed to be inflicted outside the border of the U.S. Their very own government is going to do to them what it has been via the military and the CIA doing in other people's Country. They are going to became a slave in their own land….they will have no rights to anything. So those who think things are bad now......it have not even scratch the surface yet.

This is a question that most Americans dare not ask.

We have rejected public prayer and made it illegal. Instead we worship the flag. Have you been to a major sports contest lately? Public adoration of the flag escorted by a squad of armed soldiers and sometimes graced with a fly over of stealth jets is standard practice. Even more. I attended a baseball game a few weeks ago and during the 7th inning stretch the crowd was expected to stand and worship the flag AGAIN.

Americans expect the blood of its enemies to save us, not the blood of Jesus.

Amber waves of grain and purple mountain majesties have been replaced by computer directed precision bombing and robot aircraft.

Righteousness before God has been replaced by American war crimes and theft of public monies by corporate executives on a historic scale.

And all the while the gospel is ridiculed and scorned. Morality has been turned on its head, wickedness is good and righteousness is despised.

All these things we know, yet we go to church and salute the flag anyway. Christians have abdicated the Kingdom of God for the dominion of man and we shall pay a terrible price for our lack of vision.

Sounds more like 1960's anti-American Socialist rhetoric pushed upon U.S. college campuses during the Vietnam era. It is a complete omission of our U.S. Christian history and roots, which per that history has included showing respect for our nation's flag (which has nothing to do with worship of it.)

More anti-America Socialist rhetoric. No surprise, since Britain turned Socialist long ago, and Britain still has political sway in Canada.

Amen aspen

This scripture includes the USA and all nations

Isaiah 34
1 Come near, you nations, to hear; And heed, you people! Let the earth hear, and all that is in it, The world and all things that come forth from it.
2 For the indignation of the Lord is against all nations, And His fury against all their armies; He has utterly destroyed them, He has given them over to the slaughter.
3 Also their slain shall be thrown out; Their stench shall rise from their corpses, And the mountains shall be melted with their blood.

I remember many years ago, when I was back in my Country when Jimmy Swaggered was on TV, every other sentence he said would be the United State of America. It was like he was preaching the gospel of America. He completely turned me off. This was before the sex scandal.

Why did Jesus come to earth, when he didn't approve of it's deeds? Silly him... keep your heavenly kingdom to yourself, we have our own!

The above is the thinking of many Americans. We have a government, we have a way, it works! Why do you tell us of another?

Not sure what group of Americans you been hanging around (possibly those your age) to get this impression but the same could probably be said of many nationalities in the world because it is simply carnal behavior.

Many put down the USA but when they get in trouble they coming running quick with their hand out.

Yes, that can be said of many men, and it is simply carnal.

But then why do people justify it?

This is a general observation, and not personal, and goes not for all. But I find that there is a patriotic Christianity that is rampant in the USA. We put the flag in our church. Some go as far as considering the troops are doing God's works. We've got our own Jihad!

And then there's the part where USA sees itself as the great benefactor of the world, who feeds these poor people who need help. Really? USA is led by men, just like all other nations, and I do not doubt that other leaders of other nations would do the same in their position... But is that what we defend, the flesh?

Maybe the USA should just butt out of everyone else's problems close our borders to everyone who is not a legal citizen and just let the rest fend for themselves, settle their own disputes and fight their own battles. Stop sending aid to anyone outside our borders and just take care of our own, there are plenty of Americans who could use the help.

You are correct. That's one of the reasons why God is allowing what is happening to America to happen. He is going to make this Country like hell on Earth. They are going to learn that only God's kingdom can bring about what all human beings need and want.

There is far far more to what goes on in the world than meets the eye. So not everything that is presented by the media is what they say it is. But a Christian's responsibility is to proclaim God's kingdom to all, not man's Satan inspired government. You can't serve two masters Jesus said. So we either tell others about God's government or we are going to boast about some other government.

Like any carnal individual that seeks it own self interest, even at the expense of others it is the same with the U.S: its foreign policy is based on selfishness and greed. It is no different than another Countries. So don't let it's on the surface generosity fool you.....there are strings attached. A good place to get a little glimpse of what the U.S government is really like is to Google John Perkins. He wrote a book called, Confessions of an Economic Hit man. He worked for the government so what he is saying is like getting it straight from the horse’s mouth.

Buzz if you think America is so terrible why do you live here, why are you here? Do you work for an american company?

I am here because this is where God placed me. And obviously if I am living in the U.S I would be working for a U.S company. But acctually, I work for the State Hospital in New York City. But as I said, God placed me were I am.

Are you a blind loyalist?

Not everything the US decides to get involved in is a righteous cause. I can think of many instances where we have gotten involved in things only because it served our self interest. I can also think of situations that we didn't get involved in because we had no self interest there. We have a government that is fighting to get as many people as possible dependent upon THEM because they can then grow the government and exercise more control over the masses.

Just because a person speaks out about things they disagree with doesn't mean they appreciate this country any less than a blind loyalist. Nowhere are Believers instructed to check their brains at the door and follow along like Lemmings. The ONLY "blind allegiance" we are to have to is God.

And what exactly does "working for an American company" have to do with anything? In case you haven't noticed, American companies are either failing, becoming dependent on the government for handouts, or relocating to OTHER countries.
