Why does being a Christian make some lose reason and intelligent thought

Honestly is as if some people think that when you become a Christian just leave your Intelligence and Reason at the door. I'm a Christian now, goodbye brain don't need you no more. We are to be a peculiar people not a dumb people. It is a wonder that some people think Christians are kooks when some Christians act like kooks.

I can’t disagree with that , but thankfully not all Christians stop using their brains.......but your post gave me a smile this morning, just heading off to work ( care home ) My muscles don’t like the new routine yet ( been off for two weeks ) my brain actually is telling me , you don’t need to go to work - but my responsibility, is saying ‘ of course you do ‘ .............. the virus is only potentially in the care home at the moment ( quite a number of residents are in isolation, playing the waiting game. Four residents have died since I have been away, not from Covid-19. One of them I have known for five years ......he was quite a character.

What is funnier is there are lines drawn in the sand. Those on one side think those on the other side are illogical, and those on the other side are looking back thinking they are numb-skulls.

Thank you HistoryB, I think care homes do need prayer covering right now , not sure what it’s like in the USA yet, but over here, once the virus gets into the home, it is really taking hold quickly.

Jesus taught that we should not "fear that which can kill the body, but fear Him who can destroy the soul". In other words, do not be afraid of the coronavirus, it cannot harm a Christian. It can merely put you to "sleep".

Thank you HistoryB, I think care homes do need prayer covering right now , not sure what it’s like in the USA yet, but over here, once the virus gets into the home, it is really taking hold quickly.

I do not agree that God can do what ever he wants, He may just flick the switch and take Sin out of the world then ? he may just make the sky red from blue or turn you into a lamppost ? he may of just made Jesus the worldly ruler of the Jews.

The Satanist can use such to attack God and they do all the time and they hate God because they want God to do it all their way, well they are talking to idols that they have made for themselves that they serve.

A Christian has to abide in Jesus Christ regardless, the laws are set, God does not change.

The 6 days are not our actual days. From the OT perspective Days do not mean what we may think, 40 days are not 40 days in fact, they maybe at times but not always. and other numbers do represent different things as well in Hebrew.

There is the part of it where the world thinks following Christ is foolishness.

But the other part unfortunately is too many are believing conspiracy theories, chasing conspiracy theories and taking misinformation as fact. This is the part we should change.

Many early theologians thought He did it instantaneously, and then everything unfolded from that initial creation. The Big Bang theory was proposed by a Christian who surely was aware of St. Augustine's similar understanding.

It is tough going back to the grind when our bodies do not cooperate anymore, I feel for you my friend, may God give you the strength!
I am so sorry about your patient's passing, it is so sad, especially when you know them for so long

Thank you for your kind words, things have stepped up since I wrote that. I am on annual leave this week but I got a message from work to say that we all have to wear full PPI all the time now ( this was not the case , only Carers going In to the isolation rooms had to before ) It’s the Carers that are the hero’s, I am on housekeeping ,I am still at risk, but do not have to give personal care. We have one resident on the demencia floor coming back from hospital this week - if the virus reaches that floor, it will be so difficult to contain - that is my favourite floor and I know all the residents really well.
