>>Doctrine indeed will decide salvation.
>>People who have heard of Christ and believe He is God and spend there lives practicing His love will be saved.
Actually, neither are correct. Doctrine does not save; only belief in Christ our Lord and Savior will save us from eternal damnation. And practicing his love is something we should do, but only by faith in God and His Son are we actually saved.
John 3:16 - For hGod so loved ithe world,9 jthat he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not kperish but have eternal life.
Ephesians 2:8-9 - For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Hebrews 11:6 - And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
In addition to believing in Jesus one must believe the message (the gospel of the kingdom) that Jesus preached.
Mark 1:14-15 (ESV)
[sup]14 [/sup]Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God,
[sup]15 [/sup]and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel."
But that message is not about Jesus; it is about the kingdom of God. But most Christians either have never heard that message or do not understand it. Because if they did they would not believe Heaven is where they are going to live when Jesus returns.
Jesus even said seek first the kingdom of God and His rightiousness.
Matthew 6:33 (Darby)
[sup]33 [/sup]But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.
