The cross actually saves us by us being crucified to it. When we die with Christ we also live with Christ...in His life. That is the salvation of God. The power of the cross causes us to be dead in Christ so that we can enter into Christ and walk as He walked....so that we might know the power of His resurrection.

Jesus did His part by providing the way to the Father. It is up to us to be willing to lose all things...even our lives...to gain Christ and BE with the Father in His holiness, rest and peace.

Wrong, I'm saying it is unfair for God to hold up Jesus as our example of how to keep from sinning when, as you claim, He was incapable of sinning - an example that is anything becoming of a "just" God, but we can leave this for a later discussion if you wish.
And if the Christ could have sinned, He is no better than Moses. Because the cross of Christ becomes a cross that anyone could have done the job in His place.

So there is no need for the call to salvation, neither a response to the same...a person is saved from conception and does not need to be born again?

Because from my perspective, there is something that we do to enter into salvation:

Rom 10:13, For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
And even the ability to believe comes from God. [John 6:29 Philippians 1:29]

Can God lie? The answer is no, and I’m sure we both agree. Now, the Christ, when He became man, He never ceased to be God. If He could have sinned in His flesh, He ceases to be God.

With the cross of the Christ brought it propitiation. It means atoning sacrifice(NIV) and it appeases God’s wrath for sin. Here is where we need to lock in with a laser like focus. If the cross of the Christ was for everyone, then God’s wrath for everyone’s sins has been appeased. In other words, there is no more of God’s wrath. Read in Revelation and you’ll see that’s not the case whatsoever. So, the cross of the Christ was for His sheep.

IMHO, Jesus' death and shed blood actually did pay for the sins of the whole world (everyone's sins).

However most will not believe it, trust in it, have faith in it. Today, under grace the only sin that condemns mankind is the sin of un-belief. The sin of not believing God's work on the cross saves them.

If it’s paid for, it’s atoned for. No one whose sins have been atoned for ends up in the lake of fire. Only a cruel God would punish those His Son paid their sin debt in full. :(

There is no ‘however’ to the cross. The cross saves, nothing needs added to it. No however, but, if, &c. needs added to it.

The Cross saves because it is the power of God unto Salvation. For the people of God, the Cross paid for it all; faith, justification, sanctification, and glorification. All were purchased and made possible by Christ, and there is nothing we as fallen, dirty sinners can add to it. It is a perfect and whole work, that has no need for our filthy 'contributions'. And, deep down, we all know this. We know there is nothing we can add to the work of Christ.

Jesus paid it all
All to Him I owe,
Sin had left a crimson stain
He washed it white as snow.

Not

Jesus paid it part
Half was Him half me
Without us applying it
Oh where would we all be?

You’re proving my point in this post. You’re saying the cross PLUS what you did equals salvation. You’ve taken the power of the cross away from itself and placed it in man’s hands. :(

For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.[1 Corinthians 1:18] The cross is the power of God in saving ppl. When ppl respond in faith and repentance, it’s evidence of conversion, not the cause of it. It’s cart before horse theology at its finest.

Another post showing a lacking of understanding the power of the cross. :(

Well, one poster said the Christ did His part. That’s so horrible I want to cry. Why do ppl have such an exalted view of themselves? Please tell me why.

Did what all? You are missing the point of the death and resurrection of Jesus with your focus on yourself.....and what God can do for you.

Jesus died for the sins of ALL men. To be WITH Christ...if you are at all interested in that...you must also die with Him. So the cross FOR YOUR salvation is as I have stated.

The power of man trumps the power of God. God did His part, now He’s left the rest up to them. He could have done it all, but He chose to give them a little to boast in by allowing them to do their part. There’s only one problem, there are none who seek God, there are none who understand.

If a person will see it, the sin of the people is not believing what God says and does.

Eve did not believe God, she choose to believe Satan.

Cain did not believe God, he choose to believe in his works.

The people of Israel did not believe God when He told them to go into the land and He would drive the people there out with Hornets. They choose to believe those who said they could not do it.

Jesus came and through all the miraculous signs and wonders, even raising the dead, He tried to prove He was their Messiah and King. But the nation of Israel refused to believe Him.

Jesus gave Paul a gospel that was hidden in God and revealed to him. A gospel of God's grace. But most will not believe it. They would rather believe their salvation is something they must earn by works.

The only sin that condemns a person is the sin of un-belief that Jesus' shed blood paid for ALL the sins of mankind. The cross is the power of God to save all who will believe it, to all who will place their faith in it.

Another post showing a lacking of understanding of the cross. The cross doesn’t make ppl saveable if they hold up their end of the deal, but actually saves sinners from their sins.

Ppl are born condemned. Those who choose not to believe are condemned already.[John 3:18]
