I think Jesus would treat LGBT folks just like he treated all the other sinners he came across, which was everyone without exception.

There is not one person who condemns LGBT folks who is without sin, but somehow these folks are special sinners worthy of special condemnation. It's rank hypocrisy as Paul pointed out in Roman's 2, right after gay haters' favorite passage:

Therefore you have no excuse, whoever you are, when you judge others; for in passing judgement on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, are doing the very same things

One of two things needs to happen:
1. Christians need to become sinless, then they can ostracize sinners.
2. Christians need to warmly accept and be gracious to LGBT folks just as do for themselves and their friends who sin differently.

We have a news channel here in my home city that calls my church a cult. because people have gone to them. A few of the people called it a cult because they were ask to leave after the discipline sequence of the word was given, because they were living with their boyfriend.. and sexually active.

So I think we see what our culture thinks of this thing..
I realize now that I wasn't very clear with my post.
I'm less concerned about promiscuity than I am about the hypocrisy of the church
that bars LGBT for participating yet looks the other way for heterosexual couples.

Promiscuity is a sin like any other, yet we elevate it to HUGE proportions.

Has your taken similar action toward gluttony, greed, selfishness, etc. ???
Maybe you are a cult? Is that a hard label to live with?

Religion is always endeared with Hypocrisy.

Look at the pharisee organization and Jews.

I am not surprised by the hypocrisy of the so called church

More like a "go-to hell" passage.
Which I suppose you are fine with. (sigh)

/
The words of that passage are God's. It seems you have a problem with God's condemnation/judgment. Are you also a liberal who picks and chooses the scriptures you like and discards the rest?
I believe in eternal salvation, which means we are saved from death, Hades and the Lake of Fire. What do you think you are saved from?

Do you believe that this did more good than harm?
Imagine being put out of your church because of your living arrangement? (how it appeared to them)
Were they young believers, or mature in the faith?

God said to do it.

We would be wrong if we did not do it.

Gods takes sexual sin serious.

I know many a couple who did repent and moved into separate households until they got married

How did you arrive at that conclusion?
Where is the couple now?

15 “Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. 16 But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that ‘by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’ 17 And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector.

we take this same instruction for any sin..

Like I said, a few of the couples separated and came back..

Others did not come back.. Their sin was more important than God.

The "so called church"?
Where do you draw the line?

I don't know ANYONE that "calls themself the church". - LOL

What limits do you put on "the church"? (the Body of Christ)

/
You never spoke to a catholic?

What limits? Who teaches the correct gospel.. if the gospel is false. they are not a true church.

How was it that this brother sinned against you?

Like I said, a few of the couples separated and came back..
I'm surprised they came back.
Their church was more important than their life.
Impressive. Do you police for sleepovers? - LOL

Others did not come back.. Their sin was more important than God.
Or they found another church. God was more important than your church.

well they could have found a church to enable them to sin.. then again, is that the chuirch they need to be at?

Why are you excusing sin? do you think it is ok to live in sin?

I can say I have the correct gospel all I want. if I am in error. I am not part of the church.
Who decides?

Would anyone claim they were going to the church of the IN-correct gospel?
Or would they put that on everyone else?

Who's right?

I'm not.
What I don't like is how you are judging sin on a curve.
And the consequences YOU caused to these couples.
Did you kick EVERY sinner out of your fellowship?

/
Judging sin on a curve..lol

If a person is living in sin, it does not matter what that sin is, You do the same

I suggest you stop thinking you know what I am saying,, It is obvious you are not. I also would suggest you stop yelling!
