The news reports out of UK have a good breakdown of the whys and wherefores leading up to and after the vote.

Example:
Following the vote, Hospice UK's Toby Porter said now is the time for Bill opponents and supporters to "channel their energy and passion into fixing" what he described as a "hospice funding crisis".

He added: "The Prime Minister has recently stated the need to fix palliative care funding. His support is welcome, but his words must now be accompanied by meaningful action. "

Among list of the (losing) Ayes, Muslim names are absent, but they are scattered among the Nays. They might have made the difference in the outcome. Occasionally, Muslims and Catholics find themselves on the same side!

Ironically, Britain becoming majority Islamic in a few decades will render the question redundant.

Exactly that.
It's the silly superstitious types that vote against progress.
They think that whatever was written a couple of thousand years ago has relevance today....
That's why we still thank Jesus for our packed lunches in schools, and why we can't draw pictures of Muhammad.
I think that the only way out of this mess for future generations is to make laws world wide that protect children from religious brainwashing.

Correcting someone when they're wrong isn't a mission, I just feel obligated to do it.
When misinformation is being banded around, I feel obligated to point it out. When someone is down right lying for Jesus I get the urge to call it out.

It's not murder.
It's illegal to murder somebody in Switzerland but assisted dying is legal.
The Manx government recently made assisted dying legal on the Island and good on them.
We don't let animals suffer unnecessarily so why would we let a human being?

It's inhumane to watch somebody suffer and totally ignore their wishes.

You can't just claim foreign law to justify what you want. Laws don't work that way.

But I hear you, and yet you are taking the wrong approach. You are acting as if you need to ask permission. You don't. So...it would seem that you are having a moral issue with it. Why? Do what you want, and others should do the same.

The only issue would be for someone who has already committed to go down the path of the common medical practices, expecting the system to not be true to your initial choice. In other words, if someone were to get the news they have terminal cancer and should come in for treatment--well, they don't have to--just stay home, stop eating and drinking, or go on walkabout. But if they begin down that path of yielding to what is common according to the law, they only have themselves to blame for checking themselves in. It's a choice. The only issue, is you need to know when and what you are choosing.

I say this because the same is true of eternal life. It's really just a choice.
