I just ran across an on line story that we're being visited by a comet which should be visible on New years eve. I'm not really about looking for signs in the sky or signs of the times, but comets were once looked at as signs or omens (possibly because of the first chapter of Genesis) and the signs keep popping up everywhere. I hope its a clear night. I always enjoyed astronomy and might even take out my cheap telescope for a closer look.
Ok, so before I'll start with the topic i will give some back story.
I was born and rased in the netherlands with a muslim father and a christian mother. My father never had much to say in my life when it came to religion so i don't know anything about the muslim faith but my mother did teach me certain things about christianity. She wasn't a very extreme or motivated christian so i was just learned the basics and was read a childrens bible from time to time, i never went to church or anything. But i did remember being TERRIFIED of god as a child, i remember having a bad thought sometimes and then spend an hours repeaing "i'm sorry, i'm sorry". It made me very stressed and i saw god more as a scary punisher than as a loving power....
“Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh, And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and you shall keep my judgments, and do them”—Ezekiel 36: 25-27
A few months back, when the light of the above scriptures and other scriptures entered my spirit, I went about declaring—I am through with sin all my life.
I declared it to my best friend. To my sister in-laws that came...
The shed blood of Jesus is everything that matters
22 And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.
NKJV --- NOTE: remission = forgiveness, pardon, cancellation of debt, etc.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
NKJV --- NOTE: all of mankind’s iniquities (sins) were laid on Jesus at the cross.
When Jesus shed His blood on the cross all the iniquities (sins) of the world were cancelled, pardoned, forgiven, atoned for, paid for.
Agree or disagree?
To any evolutionists who are here;
If evolution were true, and animals changed and adapted according to survival in the elements, why would they leave their fur and feathers, which provide much better for them then the bare skin of man?
And, where did the shame come from in being naked in front of others? Animals don't have it.
I have been saying that the only thing that condemns a person in this world is un-belief. Jesus paid (attoned) for all the sins of the world when He shed His blood on the cross. Everyone who believes He did are saved.
In the following verses where it says He takes away the sin of the world means exacly that, the whole world. That means all sin has been attoned for by His blood. It makes me wonder why the preachers and teachers are so intent on not sinning and never say that all sins were attoned for. See John 3:18 below.
29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, "Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
16 For God so...
Adam was created innocent in the presence of God and good while knowing no evil. When Adam sinned (and when we sin), we know evil in our minds and desire evil in our hearts thereby turning away from God and good.
We, on the other hand, are born innocent in the presence of man and evil while knowing nothing of God and good. When we sin, we know evil in our minds and desire evil in our hearts (very important).
Now when Adam or we come to God, we...
