I apologize for not having your wisdom and knowledge in the things of God. The Strong's concordance or any concordance that can help my peanut brain with words I do not understand in the Greek or Hebrew is appreciated much.
The reason I asked you to read post #474 is because we gave the same Scripture response to the same poster, yet I was wrong according to you as you said above.
A Christian is supposed to be able to teach as well as to be able to be taght.
So teach me.
To God Be The Glory
I believe that you know the Lord and have a strong desire to learn more about Him, but honestly, I've never been a very good teacher. I have difficulty explaining things in simple terms and people have difficulty understanding. After teaching a Sunday school class one of the older deacons said that I was teaching at a seminary level but I should think more like 3rd grade level for the adult class. I found that very sad.
Since you know Him, you can ask Him for understanding and wisdom. God has promised to answer such prayer and there's nothing better than being taught by God except being used by Him to bring the lost sheep into the fold.
If you have questions I don't mind answering them, but the "trolls" on this site ask questions just so they can begin an argument and wear you down, try to make you respond in a carnal way and do damage to your testimony. So many serve Satan, but I'm inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt because the scripture tells us to do so. Even Peter received a sharp rebuke for trying to turn Christ from the cross because Peter's thinking was still very much carnal at the time and He hadn't yet received the Holy Spirit.
With the increasing numbers of novel interpretations of scripture being shared by people with poor understanding, I believe that it's far safer to just let the Lord keep His promises to the saints and this is one of them:
27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him. 1 John 2:27
Those who haven't received Him don't have this promise, but I believe that you do. Just pray for understanding each time you open the scripture and pray for wisdom in applying it. These are prayers that God always responds to in the affirmative and fellowship with the Lord in study is always pleasant and good. If you do these things, you will be wiser than all your peers that are unwilling or too lazy to do so.
Just the same, if you are having difficulty with something, the staff on this site are all trustworthy souls and I'm sure that none of them will refuse to share their understanding as it is. Again, I don't mind answering sincere questions, but I don't follow the forums consistently. I've sometimes browsed topics here and involved myself in discussions out of boredom when I have too much time on my hands, but usually I only return to the site under the unction of the Holy Spirit (which is not too frequently) and usually during times of intense spiritual warfare (though I couldn't say if that warfare was with my personal struggles or someone else's. Preachers are first preaching to themselves and secondly preaching to others. The adversary is far more concerned with those doing the work of God, than those simply seated in the congregation so temptations and trials tend to be more frequent and more intense. The devil looks for opportunity even when our faith is strong and we can be an easy target when our confidence shifts to our own understanding.)
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
There is nothing safer than being in the center of God's will, and there is no greater joy than walking closely with the Lord, no greater exultation in our successes, no greater comfort in our failings and losses.
The Lord bless you, brother. Keep the faith.
