Just so.
You will not understand the Bible without the Holy Spirit to teach you. But when you do, WOW!!!
:)
Much love!
That is correct, so you must listen to the voice of the Lord which comes through the Bible!! So the Word of God is not the Bible but the words that come through the Holy Spirit to us!!
However, Jesus Christ is the Teacher, and Jesus Christ is the Word of God - not even the Holy Spirit. God is One, but we tend to have a poor understanding of this. If we read John 16 we can get a better understanding.
We find that the Holy Spirit does not speak on His own initiative!! The Holy Spirit takes the words of God that belong to Jesus Christ and speak them to you!! So the Holy Spirit might be compare to a the computer in a zoom meeting, where the computer hooks you up with the Teacher! So we, though the Holy Spirit, have a direct connection with our Lord Jesus Christ.
We should and would understand this if we have been taught by the Lord, and those that hear from the Spirit know Jesus Christ as their Lord, Teacher, and Wonderful Counselor. So what I don't understand is how we say we follow the Bible, as opposed to following our Lord Jesus Christ? And who is it that we call the Bible "The Word of God" when the Bible clearly call Jesus Christ the Word of God because He talks to us personally via the Holy Spirit hooking us up with our Lord Jesus Christ. And how is it people who make such a big deal about following the Bible don't understand that our faith is in Jesus Christ like the Bible explains?
So the Bible is worth studying, because is able to give us the wisdom to seek Jesus Christ for ourselves! Yet people who supposedly have studied the Bible are still making it about leaning on their own understanding of the Bible and the Holy Spirit talking to them is like a 'nudging' as opposed to the One who gives them the very words of our Lord Jesus Christ, like a phone might give me the word of my brother and friend?
Anyway - it amazes me - that those claiming to know the Lord and Bible so well are not hearing words from Him everyday called "Today" and go back to leaning on their understanding of the Bible. It amazes me soo much, that I get up in the morning, like today, and I start wondering why they don't seem to just get up and say "Good Morning" and expect a response. And while I was thinking about this I heard, "Karl, say 'Good Morning to Me'. That of course cause me to laugh, because my Lord was joking with me, so I said , "Good Morning Lord" - to which He responded, "Good Moring Karl. I am with you." So we began talking again, like most mornings. He told me to get the laundry going, then He had me do a bit of other cleaning. Then He had me do a bit of work on my business. He also had me put on a podcast that I sometimes enjoyed. That is how my life is - walking and talking with Him through out the day. His words are spirit and our found in my spirit, so that I find His "words" in my heart.
We walk together and talk together. So it is that Isaiah makes sense to me when I read about hearing a voice every time you turn to the right or to the left. And those saying the follow the Bible make no sense to me. Moses makes sense to me when He explained that the word was near us, and Paul too. John makes sense to me by quoting Jesus as saying that His sheep hear His voice, and that His words are spirit coming through the Holy Spirit who does not speak on His own but takes the words of God which belong to our Lord Jesus Christ and gives them to us. That all makes sense, based on my walk with them - but the person saying don't hear words but get nudging and the person saying they have only heard from the Lords voice a couple of times, need to seek Him more because He is there for us, and it is His words that give us life.
Jn 6:40 “For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.”
So it is not 'put your faith in the Bible' but rather put your faith in Jesus Christ - just like the Bible explains over and over and over!
