Ok, if you have questions for a Seventh-day Adventist, would be glad to help answer.@ReChoired Okay. Can respect that.
Have no relation to the SDA; and am a subjective Christian here. Nice to meet you.

Sorry to hear that, sounds like Jesuit (full) Preterism.a believing Christian who believes everything has been fulfilled
I have been meaning to ask you about your statement, "The 2,300 days are an extension of the 70th week of Daniel, which consists of 7 years x 300 days = 2,100 days ..."1. WHITE CALLS THE 2,300 DAYS CENTRAL TO SDA BELIEFS
"The scripture which above all others had been both the foundation and the central pillar of the advent faith was the declaration: "Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed." Daniel 8:14."
Fallacy #1. The 2,300 days are an extension of the 70th week of Daniel, which consists of 7 years x 300 days = 2,100 days ...
[Q5] What makes a Seventh-day Adventist a Seventh-day Adventist?
[A5] Christ Jesus - the consummate Seventh-day Adventist.
Daniel 9:27 mentions one "week". The Hebrew is shabua, which means "one seven" or a "heptad". It is generally understood and accepted that this is a week of years. Therefore there are 7 years in this 70th week of Daniel. However, that should really be 360 days, not 300 (my error), since each month is for 30 days x 12. So we have 2,520 days in 7 years, which mean that 2,300 are shy of 7 years by a little over 7 months.I have been meaning to ask you about your statement, "The 2,300 days are an extension of the 70th week of Daniel, which consists of 7 years x 300 days = 2,100 days ..."Where did you get "7 years" and "300 days" from?
Jesus Christ. I stated it before, the nature of His Deity, and also of His humanity. Most persons identifying as Christians teach that Jesus did not come in actual sinful (fallen) flesh, but the Bible teaches that He did. This affects everything from the Everlasting Gospel to every doctrine following it. The Personhood of His Deity is denied by most of Christianity, since thy teach 'trinity' which scripture does not teach. It teaches the Eternal Heavenly Trio. It teaches Godhead.I find this answer disturbing. It's so overly general. Sure, the genus connects all Christians. But what is the Differentia? How is SDA different from other Christians?
Thank you for clarifying. You are in error still, but thank you for clarifying. The 7 years are merely a tiny portion of the 2,300, not that the 2,300 are a reiteration of 7 years minus some months, easily shown from the context of Daniel 8-9. God is exact, not apotelesmatic.Daniel 9:27 mentions one "week". The Hebrew is shabua, which means "one seven" or a "heptad". It is generally understood and accepted that this is a week of years. @Backlit @quietthinker @ReChoired I think @marksman will know a bit about this too, even though I don't think you are an SDA.
Could you list the top 3 (I'll even take the top 5) "whackey" (sic) "beliefs", so we could at least take at look at the subjective list you go by?The SDA's are in essence not much different to other denominations inasmuch they interpret the Bible to suit their denominational bias. ... They have some beliefs like most denominations that are a bit whackey, but their basic beliefs line up with scripture. ...
Have you seen the evidence, that many others, non-Seventh-day Adventists (and before them), teach that satan is the scapegoat of Leviticus 16? If you would like I can provide those sources for you (I had them posted on CARM, but they banned me for the umpteenth time, and erased all my posts, those included, for posting them).9. SATAN WILL CARRY AWAY THE SINS OF THE SAINTS!
"It was seen, also, that while the sin offering pointed to Christ as a sacrifice, and the high priest represented Christ as a mediator, the scapegoat typified Satan, the author of sin, upon whom the sins of the truly penitent will finally be placed. When the high priest, by virtue of the blood of the sin offering, removed the sins from the sanctuary, he placed them upon the scapegoat. When Christ, by virtue of His own blood, removes the sins of His people from the heavenly sanctuary at the close of His ministration, He will place them upon Satan, who, in the execution of the judgment, must bear the final penalty. The scapegoat was sent away into a land not inhabited, never to come again into the congregation of Israel. So will Satan be forever banished from the presence of God and His people, and he will be blotted from existence in the final destruction of sin and sinners."
Fallacy #9. Satan has nothing to do with the removal of sins since he is the source of all sin and evil. And he will not be "blotted from existence" since eternal Hell (the Lake of Fire) was created for the devil and his angels.
Hi @Michiah-Imla It's interesting that in Hebrews 7.12 we see the law was changed and in Hebrews 7.19 what we now have is better than the law. What if you’re faithful in observing the Sabbath but are not consistently loving your neighbors as yourself?
Doesn’t keeping the Sabbath become a hypocritical act at that point? A work of vanity?
The Pharisees were very strict in their Sabbath observation, going so far as condemning even works of righteousness performed by Christ himself!
Yet Christ told them to:
"Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment." (John 7:24)
Be careful not to leave out the weightier matters of the law in focusing too heavily on one of them:
"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye …have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith" (Matthew 23:23)
The Sabbath is not included in this list of “weightier matters” of the law…
esus did not come in actual sinful (fallen) flesh, but the Bible teaches that He did.
@Addy It's interesting that Hebrews 7.12 says the law was changed; and Hebrews 7.19 says that what we now have is better than the law.I can't understand what the DRAW is to keeping laws.... Jesus fulfilled the law...once and for all... He was is and will forever more BE the PERFECT... and totally FULFILLED SACRIFICE.... It is DONE and finished.... Christ died on the cross and paid DEARLY for our sins... yet... we
continue to SLAP HIM across the face with our DO GOOD and BE GOOD attitudes... as if our filthy "do gooding" even means anything.
Do you all realize that GOD is ALMIGHTY?? HE is ALL POWERFUL... ALL SEEING and ALL KNOWING?? Do you believe for one second that you can do ANYTHING to add to the already finished work on the cross?? Do you think being extra good on Saturday is accomplishing ANYTHING?? and... Do you realize that if you desire to follow the LAW... you are then bound to keep ALL of them??
Jesus set us free from all that... His sacrifice was PLEASING to GOD... WE are called to LOVE GOD with all our hearts... All these doctrines of WORKS.... they are nothing but dirty rags... It is CHRIST that is GOOD.... ONLY CHRIST who is GOOD.
People seem to have an affinity for slavery... as though it makes them feel safe and comfortable somehow.
Where the spirit of the Lord is... there is FREEDOM.... OH how I LOVE my FREEDOM... I am able to simply focus all my energy on HIM rather than on me.. and what I NEED to do to remain obedient and saved. It's all so exhausting.
It's interesting and heartbreaking... all at the same time. People have made Christianity into something so ugly.... and I am not meaning SDA's specifically... I am talking generally across the board.... What we see here within the forums is a broad spectrum of Christian doctrines... and it is horrifying to me... truly horrifying what people have done to the Name of CHRIST. ( Again... this is a general comment.... and NOT meant for this thread specifically )... I am finished fighting about what others believe.... the Catholics and the legalists have DONE me in... I'm exhausted from all the strife.... which is why I simply enjoy hanging out at the beach in these last weeks.. It's quiet there... I feel the PRESENCE of GOD there... and my soul is made STILL.
It certainly can get exhausting arguing with legalists who exploit Christianity in order to promote themselves and their false religion. Enjoy your quiet time at the beach in communion with God.It's interesting and heartbreaking... all at the same time. What "law" changed in context?Hi @Michiah-Imla It's interesting that in Hebrews 7.12 we see the law was changed and in Hebrews 7.19 what we now have is better than the law.
I had several over the years. Doesn't matter now. Matt Slick, and Diane and their sycophantic cronies cannot handle open and public rebuttal of their stated positions. I'll return there once again as time allows. Why not ask for the evidence they erased instead on the subject, and many others?what was your screen name on carm
