@Pathfinder7 Back a bit you said:
My guess is ..tattoos session was added.
- Because it might be helpful for those involved in ministry..to know about tattoos.
---
The session was balanced..not too much negative.
- Instructor had experience..outreach ministry to
people with tattoos.

It can indeed be helpful if balanced info about faith based tattoos can inform how they may be a useful tool in witness ministry, right?

@Addy Back a bit you said
She is a legalistic believer... I have no desire to engage her in a debate... LOL
Whether it's the case of someone tattooed before conversion, or whether the case of a believer seeking to put a faith based tattoo to profitable witness use: giving ppl a hard time because of a tattoo makes little sense...except to those of a legalistic mindset, right?

@soul man Back a bit you said:
Tattooing in our day is big, if you need or want a tattoo, that is what you should have written in the biggest boldest lettering you can get. Stare at it daily, study it daily, it never gets old.

You're right; it's big. Seems like huge numbers of Christians are willing to undergo just that little effort and discomfort in order to express something they feel is really worthwhile and special.

One of the churches I go to has three quite elderly women, all widows, who recently went out and got themselves tattoos.

almost every young girl I know has some sort of tatoo.
Even those very conservative types.

Like you say, it's big, isn't it?

Each tattoo contains an intent. That intent remains with the tattooed person. Even if you got the tattoo removed, what remains is the intent. It could become a thorn in one's side so-to-speak.

You would like the tattoo on his arm farouk

@Mayflower (Thought I'd reply here to keep on topic...) It's a lion, right? certainly a theme that if the person is motivated to use, with the inking up, that preaches well, with its presence in Scripture.

As Acolyte said:
My son had 7 or 8 tattoos before I even thought about it. ... Those who get scripture must be overjoyed. The money and pain are outweighed by the message they witness to...

(Which, again, you would probably agree with.)

Some people get saved after they already had tattoos....
I do like the idea of Christian based tattoos to dispel the reputation given to those with tattoos in the past by some in society
@Heart2Soul

Re. what you said, seems anyway like plenty of effort is being made to dispel that past reputation.

Around here (Bible Belt), it is common, especially among evangelical Christians, for the girls under about 40 to have religious tattoos. More do than don't, especially when you get to the under 30 crowd. I hardly know any female at church that is under 30 that does not have a tattoo.

I think you probably also would welcome those efforts to dispel it, right?

It is lovely to see you and your tattoo advocacy back in full swing... LOL
@Addy Although I don't say that everyone ought to get tattooed (it's an individual thing, very much), my wife and I talked to a young lady - and I talked to a young man - with the whole of John 3.16 tattooed on their wrist area and arm, respectively.

Doubtless the fact that they endured getting inked up has brought them repeated opportunities to talk about John 3.16.

I have come to the point of letting each work out there own salvation with fear and trembling.
@Heart2Soul I think I may have mentioned that my wife and I talked to a young lady - seemingly quite shy and modest - who had gotten the whole of John 3.16 tattooed on her wrist area: I reckon that it would have given her a lot of joy to have it injected, seeing it must have been well planned with serious intent (if this comment makes sense?)

I had to read it through a couple of times but I got what you're saying.

@Nancy Back a bit:
I think just about everyone I see on a daily basis has, at the very least one tattoo.
Pretty much every one I know, and that includes Christians and myself, have a tattoo
It used to be someone was unique when they got a tattoo now, it is quite unique for a person to NOT have one.

Sounds about right again.

(Hence the very wide pursuit of the medium for faith/witness designs...though not your choice, of course...)

I don't know 'satisfied' is the right word. I think it's more....she's struggled with anxiety all her life, which has meant a lot of things have been closed off to her. She just hasn't been 'brave enough' to step up to them. So...when I can see she really wants something and just needs a tiny bit of...nudge...I try to be there for her, no matter what it is. I think, probably, when it came to the piercing, most of her nerves came from having to speak to the guy who did it, rather than from the pain! But for me, didn't change my focus.
So yes, I'm glad she's pleased with herself, and she feels she accomplished something. It helps her a lot.
@Naomi25 How's she doing now, these days?

Sigh. Well, its a long story. She’s grown up…sort of, making her own choices…many of them stupid. As they do.
She’s barrelled ahead with her piercings; two nose ones since she left home. Not that we really care, to be honest. Bigger issues at hand. She seems pleased with them, and i expect she’ll get more.
Kids…gotta love them even when you want to kill them, right?

@Naomi25 I'm sure you want to surround her with invisible intercessory fire, so to speak. (Hebrews 7.25 also comes to mind.) Yes, well nostril and septum are both sought after placements. Sometimes eventually combined with ink someplace, though not necessarily.

Yes, we are praying for her…trusting in God ultimately too. It’s not like we all haven’t made some idiotic decisions when we were young!
Yes, those are the two nose ones she has, and no…I won’t be surprised if she gets ‘ink’. Again, I truly don’t mind. My biggest concern is her relationship with God, nothing else matters.

In the 2nd century an anti-Christian Platonist Celsus put together the version of Jesus' life circulated by Jews who opposed Him. One of their claims was that Jesus went to Egypt to study magic and even had his arms tattooed with magical spells! Hey, if it was all right for Jesus, it's all right with me! Sort o gives new meaning to Paul's statement, "I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus." This anti-Gospel is interesting because you can't expect Jews to buy our Gospels portrait of Jesus. The virgin birth? These Jews claimed that Jesus was the illegitimate son of a Roman soldier named Panthera and a spinner named Mary.
