only an opinion but consider this flood that the serpent cast out of his mouth…that he may cause her to be carried (entangled, or swept) away of the flood. the serpent cast out of his mouth…to make war…that what is brought forth of the Lamb of God might get caught up and entangled therein and be swept away or carried away:

the woman is Israel.

Revelation has much symbolism first found in the OT - the sun, moon, and stars about her head means she is Israel, who Messiah came out of.

As to the flood of water, Satan has power to create storms, according to Job, where He caused storms sent to destroy Jobs family, and probably sent the storm Jesus told to be still, that was sinking their boat.

And the revelation 12 event is literal, because Israel hides for exactly 3.5 years.

Satan is cast out of heaven in the middle of the tribulation, he raises from the dead the beast/Antichrist who has been assassinated and died from a head wound, and possesses him, which gives him power to make war against the saints, and give the mark for 42 months - 3.5 years- at that time, he, the Antichrist, goes into the temple as the son of perdition, makes the temple desolate, and says he is God.

This is a mid trib event, per Daniel, and as the abomination of desolation occurs, Israel flees into the desert, (as Jesus warns them to, when they see the son of perdition standing in the temple, in Matthew 24), for 3.5 years in Revelation 12.- which is the last half of the 7 year tribulation period aka the great tribulation.

The woman in Revelation 12 is unequivocally Israel.

The symbology of the sun, and moon with the stars over her head is found in the Old Testament, so it’s not an opinion, it’s a fact.

The woman gave birth to one who was caught up to heaven - no opinion needed there, it’s Jesus - and Israel is where Messiah sprang forth from.

Scripture teaches of a 3.5 year tribulation, where the (Two Witnesses) of Revelation 11 rule the earth through plagues, a complete remake of Moses/Aaron against Pharaoh of Egypt

It’s 7 years with the division of general tribulation for 42 months, followed by great tribulation for 42 months.

The two witnesses rule nothing. They give testimony for 42 months and kill those who attack them to silence them, and demonstrate the ability that Elijah is known for - but he didn’t rule over anyone, either.

Remember that even though the cross sealed the judgment of the world and Satan (prince is a poor translation for "archon"), god has often declared judgment and delayed the execution of what He declared to take place. the world and satan have had their judgment set, but we are living in the time of the calling out of the Gentiles a people for the name of Jesus!

see though that is confusing because It says knowing he was cast unto the earth he was wroth. I’m not sure of the 3 1/2 year tribulation and the second half the great tribulation. At what point then is the dragon cast unto the earth…at the beginning of the seven years, at the 3 1/2 mark, or during the great tribulation? If prior to the seven year tribulation then is that is why he is wroth knowing he has but 7 years? How does he see he is cast unto the earth? Or how does he get cast unto earth? I’m questioning if how he knows his time is short is because of
Colossians 2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
