I couldn't agree MORE with your comments in RED.

However - your Protestant Fathers divorced themselves from that Church and splintered off into multiple factions that continue splintering to this day.

It's time to come home.
I will never have anything to do with your corrupt works salvation religion and it's cold dead, empty liturgy. True believers who discerned the corruption of the Catholic church ran from it under threat of life and from it's control hungry, blood thirsty, evil leadership. And nobody's contending the fact that evil, worldly men have created divisions among us true believers who despise the corrupt Catholic church. We are told in the scriptures that existed before your religion existed that this would happen—Jude 1:19, 2 Peter 2:2. So, nobody on this side of the wall between us and you is making some kind of claim to being a perfect church as you are doing. You're grasping at straws.

I often feel nothing but sorrow for many folks . If only the peoples had simply followed Christ . Had learned His doctrine well
and all sound doctrine well . OH then had they stood for the truth and their end would have been so good .
But WOE unto this generation , for it stands only on a sensual humanstic reasoning and thus cannot discern
the truth . At most they only use parts of the bible , but it is only to justify their perversion , their lie and their path .
If only the peoples had KNOWN the GOOD that GOD had planned for all who simply believed in Christ and had followed HIM
faithful unto the end . THEN many would be standing and contending for the actual bibical truth and not
rather embracing the delusion .

And you see in my posts exactly what you feel - i try with all my heart for them find freedom and liberty from religion thru the Word of Liberty = His TRUTH.

did Jesus found a church?

Not the RCC as it is currently constituted but yes. You are confusing the collection of those who believe Jesus is the Messiah, the son of God and their personal lord and savior with a corrupt institution founded by councils of men 11 centuries after Jesus was crucified.

However, His Church IS a visible congregation (Matt. 5:14) - a UNIFIED Body (John 17:20-23)
You'll only see the church in the faces of it's true believers. You can't point to a congregation or religious organization and say, "there is the church." It may have members of the true church in it, but it's extremely unlikely that any one congregation or organization is composed purely of real believers. The church is unified by the indwelling Holy Spirit in each of it's members and in the bond of peace, not unified in a religious organization.

They're trained in magic, they mesmerise with the Rosary Beads, idols and the show they put on.
That's an interesting comment. When the first pilgrims landed in America, their Christian proselytizing had little effect on natives. Natives already worshipped a creator, they had no oracles from which to teach, but their methods were elaborate and showy. When the Roman catholics arrived with their brightly colored robes and vestments, smoke incense and jingling bells, shiny gold goblets and saucers, and secretive Latin chants, the natives were impressed at their "magical" methods.

Nope - just telling you where the money goes.
I'm confident that the bulk of the Catholic proceeds are maintained within the organization itself, not spent on charity. You'll never convince us that the leadership of the Catholic church is honest and upright and godly. They have the exact opposite reputation among us true believers who can see. Especially now that it is becoming more and more well known, even in the eyes of the unsaved world, that the Catholic priesthood is a hotbed of gay pedophiles, most of whom are protected by the church itself. There's just no denying this.

Reading this reminded me of the time an angry and indignant pope francis slapped that woman who wanted to hold his hand. What would Jesus do? Not what the one did who claims to be vicariously Christ.

NONE of these verses speak of Scripture - except for 2 Tim. 3:16 - and THAT one simply says that Scripture is "PROFITABLE." It never says that it is our SOLE Authority.

"OUR" soul authority ?

No, no, no, no.....Not our ...IS MINE..
Not YOURS .

Scripture is "PROFITABLE" for ME,
BECAUSE
SCRIPTURE ALONE VERIFIES what I AGREE WITH !

does Scripture tell us that the Word of God is limited ONLY to what is written.

Gods MOUTH IS FULL OF WORDS...
IF God has SPOKEN, "TO YOU", what IS NOT WRITTEN IN SCRIPTURE....
TELL ME...then PROVE IT!!

YOU have FAILED to give ANY OTHER SOURCE .... "YOUR" SOURCE, (not mine)....
THAT IS THE WORD OF GOD.

in 2 Thess. 2:25 - Paul tells us that it is NOT..

LOL....ya sure.....
( Paul tells YOU in *!? 2 Thes 2:25

PROVE IT! QUOTE...2 Thes 2:25....LOL

Then... QUOTE "from YOUR OTHER SOURCE"
That "YOU" agree with ... That "PROFITS" "YOU" Greater than Scripture....THAT FOR "YOU"....SUPERSEDES, BETTER THAN, GODS SCRIPTURAL SOURCE.

BreadOfLife said:
There was NO Bible when the Church was born, my ignorant friend.

LOL..the ignorant calling others ignorant is laughable.

MANY Scriptures were written, spoken, read, heard, destroyed, rewritten, and profitable for Verification...and Temples and Synogogs established...LONG BEFORE the "Church" was established and men complied a Book of Scriptures; called the Bible.

Is the word of God limited to scripture?
Hello @theefaith,

The word 'limited' is unsatisfactory: for God is not limited, neither are His words: for they are 'spirit' and they are 'life'; they are 'quick' and 'powerful' and sharper than a two-edged sword. I believe also that they are the sum of all Divine revelation.

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris

Whereas Protestant Christians do not belong to it because they are self-separated - they ARE related to that ONE Church of Christ.
It's time to come home . . .

Oh good grief...
If the catholic church is your "home".
You go there.
Christ's Church is "within" a converted man.

You can't even "quote" a witten source greater than Scripture...how do you think yourself an authority on Christ's Church?

In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
ALL things were made through Him..........

So, YES, the Lord Jesus Christ is the Sum of all Divine Revelation,
and He is the Sabbath REST of God, which no man may enter with the works of his own hands,
for God Rested on the Seventh Day - the Seventh Day is CHRIST.

Do you really think God was weary and needed to rest as we need rest each night.

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD,
The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable.

When does this begin to happen
It already started to happen in 508AD where the paganised Papal system persecuted the true believers, as prophesied in Daniel. Then the Papcy suffered a serious wound when in 1798 the king of France kidnapped the pope and separated the Papal church from the state. But as the prophecy stated, the healing of the wound started with the pact between Mussolini and the Papacy, and the Papacy has been growing in influence since then. There is a move among Evangelical churches to merge in unity with Rome and when that is complete, country's leaders will align themselves and the combination of Rome and state will resume, and that will be the start of the prophesied great tribulation. It is all there in Daniel and Revelation. So, it's not just my opinion. It is what Daniel prophesied hundreds of years before Christ, and in the vision that John saw near the end of the First Century AD.

At some time before that happens, millions of people will suddenly go missing all around the world. When that happens, the emergence of the Beast and AntiChrist will accelerate and people of all nations will be required to comply and worship the AntiChrist. When you see this happening, you will know that Bible prophecy is being fulfilled, and that you have backed the wrong horse.

The problem with the “Bible alone”!

You can easily see why the false doctrine of the “Bible alone” causes so many problems and why we can simply ignor creeds, councils, dogma, and decrees of the holy apostles teaching infallibility with the authority of Christ!

“Bible alone” is false doctrine
Negates the word of God, apostolic councils, creeds, cannons, decrees, dogma, and the teaching authority of the apostles!

The false doctrine of “the Bible Alone” is an attack on Christ and His holy church!
Christ and his church are one acts 9:4
To reject the church or church teaching is to reject Christ!

An attack on the holy church and her divine authority!

Even Christ who is the truth itself is excluded!

Scratch these verses that refer to authority other than the “Bible Alone” our of your Bible!

Isa 22:21-22 Mt 16:18 Mt 28:19 Lk 1:32 Lk 10:16 Jn 8:32 Jn 13:20 Jn 15:5 Jn 16:13 Jn 20:21-22 Jn 21:17 Acts 1:17 acts 1:26 acts 2:42 acts 8:31 & 35 acts 20:28 eph 2:20 and too many more to mention!
Outside sources of outside traditions and teachings are outside God and His Word, and so they are outside the faith of Jesus and His salvation.

You can hold to all the teachings and doctrines outside of scripture you want, but in the end we will all be judged by the gospel preached according to the scriptures.

The tree of the knowledge of good and evil was the first outside source apart from God's Word. And it continues to be the outside source of all doctrines outside of scripture.

And if any eat thereof to believe and obey them as doctrine of God, then they no longer have right to the tree of Life, which is God's Word, which is written in God's Scriptures.

God is the only source for His Word, and the Bible is the only book in all His Word is written in Scripture.

Anything outside of the Bible, not found written therein, nor found agreeing thereto, is the fruit of poisonous tree that kills the soul.

Outside traditions are the light that is darkness indeed, who's source is him that transforms himself into an angel of light: that old serpent and dragon, the devil.

I believe in the teachings of God and Jesus, and they are quoted in the Bible many times.

I believe in the accuracy of biblical historical accounts.

As for "apostolic councils, creeds, cannons, decrees, dogma, and the teaching authority of the apostles," I find them to be helpful, especially the teachings of the apostles, but not on the same level as the teachings of God and Jesus, which are without error.

But all this is just an indroduction to our Lord, who wants us to walk with him. Paul said it well: "Pray constantly." (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
All of the Bible is all Scripture, and all Scripture is equally true of God and good for instruction in righteousness.

The One who wrote the gospels, is the same One who wrote Genesis and Revelation: the true God of the Bible, Jesus Christ.

He had them write His gospel history, and He had His apostles write Hs doctrine and commandments and revelation of truth.

I find them to be helpful

Really. How nice.

The real problem with Bible alone, is that it gets in the way of teachings and traditions of men apart from God.

There are people who really, really like lies over truth, especially when they really really study them very very carefully.

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

Who would want to forbid men to marry, or to abstain from certain meats?

Those who reject the Bible is the sole source for traditions and doctrine and commandment of God.

Why go through all the psycho-babble of pretended honor toward Scripture, in order to reject Scripture? Just be open and honest about it, and say you don't want to be limited by Scripture, because you really like a bunch of other stuff outside Scripture.
