The problem with the “Bible alone”!

You can easily see why the false doctrine of the “Bible alone” causes so many problems and why we can simply ignor creeds, councils, dogma, and decrees of the holy apostles teaching infallibility with the authority of Christ!

“Bible alone” is false doctrine
Negates the word of God, apostolic councils, creeds, cannons, decrees, dogma, and the teaching authority of the apostles!

The false doctrine of “the Bible Alone” is an attack on Christ and His holy church!
Christ and his church are one acts 9:4
To reject the church or church teaching is to reject Christ!

An attack on the holy church and her divine authority!

Even Christ who is the truth itself is excluded!

Scratch these verses that refer to authority other than the “Bible Alone” our of your Bible!

Isa 22:21-22 Mt 16:18 Mt 28:19 Lk 1:32 Lk 10:16 Jn 8:32 Jn 13:20 Jn 15:5 Jn 16:13 Jn 20:21-22 Jn 21:17 Acts 1:17 acts 1:26 acts 2:42 acts 8:31 & 35 acts 20:28 eph 2:20 and too many more to mention!

I believe in the teachings of God and Jesus, and they are quoted in the Bible many times.

I believe in the accuracy of biblical historical accounts.

As for "apostolic councils, creeds, cannons, decrees, dogma, and the teaching authority of the apostles," I find them to be helpful, especially the teachings of the apostles, but not on the same level as the teachings of God and Jesus, which are without error.

But all this is just an indroduction to our Lord, who wants us to walk with him. Paul said it well: "Pray constantly." (1 Thessalonians 5:17)

Scripture doesn't negate Gods' word- it IS God's word. The "teaching authority" of the apostles is recorded in their writings and died with them.

The bolded items are the entities that negate the word of God and are the source of false doctrines and other heresies.

If you think the Christian “rule of faith” is the Bible alone then why does the Bible not teach it? Acts 2:42 the held to the doctrine of the apostles not the “Bible alone”!

we must be taught!

Must be taught by the holy church by the apostles! Matt 28:19-20 Lk 1:4 Acts 2:42 Acts 8:29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.

30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?

31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

apostles teach the faith of Christians!

we must be taught!

First, when the epistles were written there was no "bible" as we know it today so obviously there was no command about something that did not yet exist.

Second, the office of apostle ( the 12 selected to speak under the authority of Jesus who by qualification HAD to be a physical eyewitness to the resurrection of Jesus) are all dead now and that's not a birthright passage so that's a non sequitur comparison. There are no more offices of prophet, apostle or high priest. ( no more human authority direct of God)

We have the written word and we have the Holy Spirit to teach and guide us.

how can the doctrine of the apostles be different from the teaching of God and Christ?

lk 10:16 he who hears you (the apostles)
Matt 16:18 bound on earth (apostles) bound in heaven (God)
Matt 28:19 Christ commanded them to teach, they must teach his doctrine
Jn 16:13 lead you (the apostles) into all truth
Jn 20:21-23

What authority does Christ have?
What power does Christ have?
What mission / ministry does Christ have?

Peter, the apostles and their successors have the same authority, power, and mission! Jn 20:21 as my father sent me, even so send I you!

The apostles are Christ’s successors!
They have authority to send others as well, apostle means one who is sent!

Therefore the apostles have authority to send more apostles or successors!
Apostolic succession!

The nations still need to be taught, disciples still need to be baptized and the church the new covenant kingdom of christ still needs to be governed!

Hebrews 3:1
Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

Christ is an apostle, and has authority to send other apostles, the apostles also have this authority, so the apostles continue down thru the centuries as Christ promised! Matt 28:19-20

Keys of authority! And power to bind and loose! Matt 16:18 and Matt 18:18 matt 28:19 Isa 22:21-22

Moral authority:
(Teaching)
Necessity of being taught by Christ:
Two edge sword: defining truth and condemning errors, and Interpreting scripture.

Jurisdictional authority:
(Governing / administering)
Necessity of Peter and the apostles and their successors to govern the holy church.

Spiritual authority:
(Life of Grace)
Sanctifying thru the mass and Sacraments

The apostles teaching is Christ’s teaching, Christ and His church are one! Acts 9:4

Jesus Christ continues HIS ministry in His new covenant church thru Peter, the apostles, and their successors with the same mission, power, and authority!
Mt 16:18 Mt 28:19 Acts 1:17 acts 8:31 & 35 Lk 10:16 Jn 8:32 Jn 13:20 Jn 15:5 Jn 16:13 Jn 20:21-22 eph 2:20

Christian rule of faith is not the Bible alone! But the doctrine of the apostles! Acts 2:42

apostles teach the faith of Christians!
The Holy Spirit isn't able to teach us?
I believe in going to church but it's not a necessary thing for salvation.

so how can the rule of faith be the “Bible alone” when it did not even exist until the church approved it in 381 by the authority of Christ in His apostles, what about the millions who could not read most could not read until the 20th century most books including Bible were rare and very expensive all written by hand (mostly by monks who sacrificed their whole life to copy a bible) until the printing press

the Holy Spirit is guaranteed to the apostles Jn 16:13 they are to teach the nations Matt 28:19 Lk 1:4 acts 8

in acts 8 did the eunuch know about Christ and baptism from the scripture and the Holy Spirit? No God sent him and apostle

We don't have the apostles to learn from. We have the Bible.

To reject the church or church teaching is to reject Christ!

 What is "holy" about your lying "church"?

To reject the church or church teaching is to reject Christ!

 Yes, I wholeheartedly reject Mystery Babylon and her false good times white Jesus. Your churches can burn along with Babylon, and they WILL. ;)

2 Tim. 3:16
16 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."

John 20:31
31 "but these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name."

Romans 10:17
"17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
Of course we would now say "reading" as we now have what they did not back then, the N.T.

Nothing at all wrong with historical literature but...we are to be reading His word and keeping it in our hearts all the time. How else to be prepared with a ready word for those who ask you?

@theefaith Nothing to reply to??

Hi T.F.
Pretty sure the eunuch WAS reading scripture, O.T. scripture pertaining to the coming Messiah.

Yes, you are correct, many back then could not read the written word so, those who could, read the O.T. scriptures to them. "Faith comes by "hearing" and "hearing" by the word of God" As we now COULD phrase that we could use the word "reading" as we do now have the New Testament, they did not have what we now have, but only what the Apostles of Christ taught them, in word or epistle.

We are to feast on His word as it is written:

Matthew 4:4
"But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."

Don't forget also the following verses regarding those given by God to assist us:

"And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:" Eph 4:11-15

I don’t have an issue with scripture
I have issues with the doctrine the “Bible alone”

the Bible does not teach the “Bible alone” and it does teach the authority of the apostles

that man of God refered to in 2 tim 3:17 is an apostle

the Bible was not assembled and approved until 381 by the apostles btw
Only the apostles said what is and what is not scripture
What did Christians do in all those years without the “Bible alone”
until the advent of printing bibles were copied by hand and very rare and extremely expensive what did Christians do in those days
Most people were illiterate until the 20th century what did they do?
So you see the “Bible Alone” cannot be the rule of faith for Christians!
Instead we actually believe scripture and submit to and obey the apostles acts 2:42
