In Luke 24:44–47 the Lord teaches that it was necessary for him to die in order to fulfill Scripture in bringing salvation to the Gentiles: “All things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name among all nations.”

Union of Church and Israel. Under the new covenant the distinction between Jew and Gentile ceases forever:

Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh . . . at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the common-wealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: but now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in His flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby. (Eph 2:11–16)

Thus, “there is neither Jew nor Greek . . . for ye are all one in Christ” (Gal 3:28) and “there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision” (Col 3:11; cp. Ro 10:12). Yet dispensationalists see the church as a temporary parenthesis in God’s plan. After the great tribulation a rebuilt Jewish temple and its animal sacrifices will supersede the church.

pt3;
Furthermore, the Promised Land serves as a type of the whole earth (which is the Lord’s, Ps 24:1 ). It is, as it were, a tithe to the Lord of the 17 entire earth. As such, it pictures the rest brought by Christ’s kingdom, which shall cover the earth (see Heb 3–4). “Hebrews 11:8–16 shows that although Abraham received the physical land of Canaan, he was looking forward to the eternal city and Kingdom of God. Canaan is a type of the new heavens and earth that began with the first advent of Christ, in seed form (Gal 4:26; Heb 12:22–29).”
In Psalm 37:11 the psalmist speaks of God’s promise to his people: “But the meek shall inherit the land.” But Jesus takes this promise and extends it over the entire earth in Matthew 5:5. Abraham apparently understands the land promise as a down payment representing his inheriting the world (Ro 4:13).

Paul expands the Land promises to extend across all the earth, when he draws them into the New Testament (e.g., Eph 6:3).

In several divine covenants we detect the expanding of these Land promises: God gives Adam a garden (Ge 2:8); he grants Abraham’s seed a country (Jos 1); he promises the New Covenant church the world (Mt 28:18–20).

But the fundamental blessedness of the Abrahamic Covenant, like that of the Adamic Covenant before it, is essentially redemptive rather than political. The seed line is primarily designed to produce the Savior; the Land promise is typological of the Savior’s universal dominion. The Abrahamic Covenant involves a right relationship with God, as indicated in Genesis 17:7: “And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you.” That which is most important in God’s plan is the spiritual relation, rather than the blood relation (Jn 8:44, cf. Mt 12:47, 50; Jn 1:12–13).

As Paul says, so it is even in the Old Testament era: “He is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is that circumcision which is outward in the flesh; but he is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, and not in the letter” (Ro 2:28–29).2

ZECHARIAH 14 IN POSTMILLENNIALISM (2)
Dispensationalism, Objections, Old Testament May 11, 2021 Comments: 2
mount-olives-split-2.png
PMW 2021-038 by Kenneth L. Gentry, Jr.

In my last article I began a two-part study on Zechariah 14. Having presented the dispensational view, I will now present a postmillennial interpretation of this famous passage.

The Siege of Jerusalem

The siege of Jerusalem described in Zechariah 14:1–2 points to the AD 70 judgment upon Jerusalem. J. Dwight Pentecost admits that the disciples who hear the Olivet Discourse would naturally apply Zechariah 14 to that event. But then, he says, such requires the confusing of God’s program for the church with that for Israel. So, he and other dispen-sationalists interpret the passage literalistically, with all the topographical and redemptive historical absurdities this creates. As they do this they totally omit any reference to the destruction of the very city and temple being rebuilt in Zechariah’s day. Yet this literal temple (the second temple) is destroyed in AD 70, as all agree.

Zechariah 14:1–2 pictures the Roman imperial forces joining the various client kings who engage the Jewish War AD 67–70. This war is conducted by an empire of “nations” (v 2), consisting not only of the Romans but the lands of Syria, Asia Minor, Palestine, Gaul, Egypt, Britain, and others. Client kings, such as Antiochus, Agrippa, Sohemus, Malchus, and Alexander, provide auxiliary forces for Rome during the Jewish War (J.W. 2:18:9; 3:4:2; 5:1:6). The consequences are disastrous: much of Israel’s population is either killed or led captive. D. A. Carson observes that never was “so high a percentage of a great city so thoroughly and painfully exterminated and enslaved as during the Fall of Jerusalem.” Yet the Lord defends those who are truly his people, insuring their escape from the besieged city (vv 3–4).

Great Tribulation: Past or Future?
(Thomas Ice v. Ken Gentry)

Debate book on the nature and timing of the great tribulation. Both sides thoroughly cover the evidence they deem necessary, then interact with each other.

See more study materials at: www.KennethGentry.com

The Lord will fight for his true people “as when he fought in the day of battle” (v 4). The Lord’s feet standing on the Mount of Olives and his fighting for his people need be no more literal than other references regarding the Lord’s fighting for Israel in the Old Testament. The language is similar to that in Joshua 10:14, 42 and 23:3, where the Lord “fought for Israel.” In Joshua these references indicate his providential favor in Israel’s victory and deliverance, not his corporeal presence. Prophecy often mentions God’s feet when his and Israel’s enemies are thwarted and are given success against all odds (Ps 18:9; Isa 60:13; Nah 1:3; Hab 3:5).

The Cleaving of Olivet

The cleaving of the Mount of Olives under him employs the common imagery of God’s conquering and restraining power in Old Testament prophecy. In Micah 1:3–4 we read that “the LORD is coming out of His place; He will come down and tread on the high places of the earth. The mountains will melt under him, and the valleys will split like wax before the fire, like waters poured down a steep place.” Even dispensationalists admit this speaks of the Old Testament subjugation of Israel under heathen nations for her sin. Mentioning the direction of the cleft “indicates the direction of their flight,” i.e., the Christians who flee Jerusalem when God judges it. They ultimately flee to all points of the compass, taking the gospel with them (cf. vv 8–9).

In the latter part of verse 5 the coming judgment upon Jerusalem, which disperses the Christians over the Roman Empire, is ultimately God’s coming in angelic judgment (“holy ones” are angels). Jerusalem’s destruction by Rome is providential destruction by “his armies” (Mt 22:7). It leads to darkness and woe upon Israel (Zec 14:6–7; cf. Ac 2:20, 22; Mt 24:29). Yet, as Jerusalem collapses and Christianity separates from her Jewish constraints, the waters of life begin flowing out into all the world (v 8; cp. Mt 24:14; Ac 1:8; 9:15). The Lord’s kingdom overflows Israel’s limited borders so that the he becomes the King of all the earth (v 9; Mt 28:18–19; Eph 1:20–21).

The subsequent topographical and liturgical references figuratively portray the ethical and spiritual changes that occur under Christ’s spir-itual administration as his worship spreads through the earth (vv 10ff). Even Jerusalem and the Jews shall be nourished by the waters of life eventually (vv 10–11; cf. Eze 47:1ff; Jn 7:38–39). The enemies of God’s people will either be vanquished (vv 12–13, 14), converted (vv 16, 20–21), or reduced to insignificance (vv 14, 17–19).

The Feast of Tabernacles is mentioned, not as a literal reinstitution of the Old Testament feast, but as the ultimate hope pre-figured in that feast: the time of the full evangelical harvest (cf. Jn 4:35–38). Those who do not convert will be reduced to servile labors, lacking the blessing of God (vv 17–19).

Overall, however, the kingdom of God (represented here by a reju-venated Jerusalem, cp. Gal 4:25–26; Heb 12:22; Rev 21:2) will be spread throughout the earth. All areas of life will be consecrated to the Lord: even the horses’ bells will contain the inscription written on the High Priest’s miter (vv 20–21).

You misrepresent my post, as if I claimed satan is currently bound from evil, be honest on my post Ron as seen below

Quote Post Truth7t7 Below:

"Many That Promote Millennialism Falsely Teach, Satan Cant Be Presently Bound Because Evil Exist In The World?

Satan Is Presently Bound As Is Clearly Seen In (Revelation) 20:7-8 Below That Interprets (Deceive The Nations) Is To Battle, Not General Evil In The World Presently."

so tell me then. We both know Satan is one being and cannot be in two places at one time. At least I think you believe that.

20 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.

2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,

3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

So how can Satan be bound and shut up with chains but yet still free to deceive people? Unless of course to you the bottomless pit is not the bottomless pit, and chaining him up does not mean to restrain Him, and shut him up, does not mean shut him up.

When you understand the chains binding satan aren't bought at Ace Hardware or Home Depot, you will have answered your own question

Example: satan wasn't bound from evil upon Job or his family, but he was bound from taking Job's life

Just as satan isnt bound from evil in this present world, but he is bound from deceiving the nations to battle as seen in Revelation 20:3, it's that simple

There isnt one scripture in the Old Testament describing a future Millennial Kingdom on this earth, not one

Feel free to post scripture in support of your claims, I'm eagerly waiting?

As I told you if you had bothered to read my post, the 1,000 years is what the NT states how long the often written of earthly kingdom will last. Tonight I will post for you the many aspects of kingdom life on earth.

But one question for you. when Jesus physically returns to earth, just what do you think He does? Vanquish the enemy in Rev. 20 aS YOU FALSELY CLAIM, JUDGE EVERYTHING ON EARTH THEN SETS UP ETERNITY?

There isnt one scripture in Gods word that supports a Millennial Kingdom on this earth

Jesus Christ returns in fire and final judgement, the earth will be "Dissolved" by fire (The End)

There's A Whole Bunch Of Fire When The Lord "Appears" "Reveals" two words that you disregard below

1 Corinthians 3:13KJV
13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

Luke 17:29-30KJV
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

2 Thessalonians 1:7-9KJV
7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
8 In flaming fire taking vengeance
on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

Malachi 3:2KJV
2 But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:

Psalm 46:6KJV
6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.

Psalm 50:3KJV
3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.

Psalm 97:5KJV
5 The hills melted like wax at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.

Isaiah 66:15KJV
15 For, behold, the Lord will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.

Zechariah 14:12KJV
12 And this shall be the plague wherewith the Lord will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.

Nahum 1:5-6KJV
5 The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.
6 Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.

Revelation 20:9KJV
9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

Well by equating Rev. 20:9 with those other verses and assuming it is to set up eternity you have serious problems.

Rev. 19 describes Jesus return.

11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords.

17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;

18 That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great.

19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.

20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

The corpses of the armies of the antichrist are to be eaten by birds Then the beast(antichrist) and false prophet are cast alive into the lake of fire!!

Now we move on to Chapter 20.

4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,

8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.

9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.

10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

YOu say the 1,000 years are non literal and taking place now. so according to you the antichrist and false prophet are already in the lake of fire for they are cast into there before your allegorical 1,000 years take place.

So when did the antichrist do all his deeds?

Who was he and who was the false prophet?

what was the mark of the beast?

Also following your allegorical reinterpretation of Scripture, those who did not worship the beast, nor recieive His mark on their foreheads or hands have already been resurrected and are reigning with Jesus now!!!! According to your reinterpretation of SCripture that is.

But I love verse 5!

The rest of teh dead lived not again until your mythical 1,000 years are finished! It is sad you refuse to accept teh word as written and feel th eneed to correct teh inspiration of the Holy spirit so you can shoehorn gods' Word to a faulty doctrine that was taught to you.

When you understand the chains binding satan aren't bought at Ace Hardware or Home Depot, you will have answered your own question

Just as satan isnt bound from evil in this present world, but he is bound from deceiving the nations to battle as seen in Revelation 20:3, it's that simple

Wow you love to play loose and fast with grammar don't you?

I know it isn't a human chain but it is bindings of some supernatural sort.

Look upi the definition of bound and you will find Satan was not bound from taking jobs' life, just forbidden by god.

As bound is the past tense of bind, I did your work for you:

bind
(bīnd)
v. bound (bound), bind·ing, binds
v.tr.
1.
a.
To tie or secure, as with a rope or cord.
b. To hold or restrain by tying with rope or bonds: bound the prisoner.
2.
a.
To fasten or wrap by encircling, as with a belt or ribbon: a dress bound with a sash.
b. To bandage: bound up their wounds.

As for what John saw the angel bring down? The greek is halysis and means physical binds. He saw bindings and used the best word at His disposal to desscribe them.

BTW Satan is already deceiving the nations and brings nations to battle through poking their greed and hate. He still is the temporary god of this world.

Preamble to Days of Vengeance by David Chilton
The purpose of the covenantal Preamble is thus to proclaim the lordship of the Great King, declaring his
transcendence and immanence and making it clear from the outset that his will is to be obeyed by the vassals, his
servants. Biblical treaties set forth God’s transcendence and immanence by referring to one or more of three activities: creation, redemption, and revelation. It is the latter two that are especially emphasized in Revelation’s Preamble. We have already noted the stress on divine revelation in the opening sentence, and this is underscored in the following verses. The churches are to “hear the words of the prophecy, and
keep the things that are written in it,” and the Lord pronounces a special blessing upon those who obey

(1:3); St. John again speaks of himself as one who has borne witness to “the Word of God and the Testimony of Jesus” (1:9); further, he tells of the revelation that came to him in terms of the standard and familiar patterns of covenantal revelation throughout Biblical
history: “I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and I heard behind me a loud Voice like the sound of atrumpet, saying: Write in a book what you see . . .”
(1:10-11; see below).

Redemption is also stressed in this passage: “Jesus Christ, the faithful Witness, the Firstborn from the dead, and the Ruler of the kings of the earth . . . who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood . . .has made us to be a Kingdom, priests to His God and Father; to Him be the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen” (1:5-6). Moreover, Christ is specifically stated to be the Redeemer, the Son of Man, who
comes with the clouds” in His glorious Ascension to the Father and coming judgment upon Israel to receive worldwide dominion, glory, and a Kingdom; who will be seen by “those who pierced him,” and mourned over by “all the tribes of the Land” (1:7; cf. Dan. 7:13-14;

Zech. 12:10-14; Matt. 24:30; John 19:37; Eph. 1:20-

22). St. John’s vision of Christ develops the idea of His redemptive work: He is clothed as the High Priest

(1:13), revealed as the incarnate Glory of God (1:14-15), the Creator and Sustainer of the world, whose

powerful Word goes forth to conquer the nations (1:16); who died, and rose again from the dead.

Ken Gentry on Kingdom;
Kingdom

By creation God establishes the world in which righteousness is to dwell. By covenant He structures the legal framework of universal righteousness. By prophecy He engages the power of His all-controlling word to direct the spread of His righteousness in history. And by the establishment of the kingdom, He begins the actual progress to universal righteousness.

According to the clear testimony of the New Testament, Christ established His kingdom during His earthly ministry over 1900 years ago. As He began His ministry He preached: “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel” (Mark 1:15). Later He preached: “But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you” (Matt. 12:28).

Peter points to His Resurrection as the point at which Christ assumed Messianic rule: “Therefore, [David] being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne, he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ” (Acts 2:30-31a). He then makes reference to Psalm 110:1 to show the expectation of Christ’s rule:

Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear. For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he says himself: The LORD said to my Lord, Sit at My right hand, till I make Your enemies Your footstool. Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ. (Acts 2:33-36)

But let us turn to Paul’s exposition of the postmillennial kingdom in 1 Corinthians 15:20-27. This glorious passage resounds with victory as the throbbing essence of the postmillennial hope. Let me give a brief, running exposition of Paul’s thought here.

As we all well-know, Paul is dealing with the idea of the resurrection of the dead in 1 Corinthians 15. He points out that it is in Christ that we shall be made eternally alive by the resurrection: “For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive” (1 Cor. 15:22). But there is an order in the eschatological resurrection: Christ becomes the firstfruits of the resurrection. “But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming” (1 Cor. 15:23). Just as surely as Christ, the firstfruits, was resurrected in eschatological glory long ago, so shall we, who are found in Him, be resurrected in eschatological glory at some future date.

Contrary to the premillennial expectation, the resurrection is the grand finale of the “last days.” The resurrection punctuates “the end” of history: “But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming. Then comes the end” (1 Cor. 15:23-24). No new era begins: these are the last days that we now live in. No millennial period will follow the resurrection in history because “then comes the end.”

But what may we expect to precede the conclusion of history? Here is where we part company with our amillennial brethren. Verse 24 says, “the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father.” The end of earth history is brought about “whenever” (literally) Christ “delivers up” the kingdom to the Father.

In the construction before us the “delivering up” of the kingdom must occur in conjunction with “the end.” The Greek for “delivers up” here is (paradidoi), which is a verb in the present tense and subjunctive mode. When the word translated “when” or “whenever” (hotan) is followed by the present subjunctive (as here), it indicates a present contingency that occurs in conjunction with the main clause, which is “then comes the end.” Here the contingent factor is in regard to the date of the “end”: “whenever” it may be that He delivers up the kingdom, then the end will come.

Associated with the predestined end here is the prophecy that the kingdom of Christ will be delivered up to the Father. But this occurs only “when he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power.” In the Greek text the hotan (“when”) is here followed by the aorist subjunctive, katargese. This construction indicates that the action of this subordinate clause precedes the action of the main clause. The phrase here should be translated: “after he had destroyed all dominion, authority and power.”

Gathering this exegetical data together, we see that the end is contingent: it will come whenever it is that he delivers up the kingdom to the Father. But this will not occur until “after He has destroyed all dominion, authority and power.” Consequently, “the end” will not occur, Christ will not turn the kingdom over to the Father, until after He has abolished His opposition. Here is the certain hope of postmillennialism!

And notice further that verse 25 demands that “He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet.” Here the present infinitive translated “reign” indicates the continuance of a reign then in progress. References elsewhere to the Psalm 110 passage specifically mention His sitting at God’s right hand. Sitting at the right hand entails active ruling and reigning, not passive resignation. He is now actively “the ruler over the kings of the earth” who “has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever” (Rev. 1:5).

Here in 1 Corinthians 15:25 we learn that he must continue to reign, He must continue to put His enemies under His feet—but until when? The answer is identical to that which has already been concluded: it is expected before the end of history. Earlier it was awaiting the abolishing of all rule, authority and power; here it delayed until “He has put all His enemies under His feet.” The repetition of the expectation of His sure conquest before the end is significant. Furthermore, the last enemy that will be subdued is death, which is subdued in conjunction with the Resurrection that occurs at His coming. But the subduing of His other enemies occurs before this, before the Resurrection.

In verse 27 it is clear that He has the title to rule, for the Father “has put everything under His feet.” This is the Pauline expression (borrowed from Psa. 8:6) that is equivalent to Christ’s declaration that “all authority has been given Me.” Christ has the promise of victory and He has the right to victory. Psalm 110, especially as expounded by Paul in 1 Corinthians 15, shows He will have the historical, pre-consummation victory as His own before His coming.

This is why He confidently commands us: “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Matt. 28:19). This is why postmillennialism is a “certain hope.” Our hope is built on the foundational principles of creation, covenant, prophecy, and kingdom

17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God;

11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

His claim (The Day Of The Lord) is a 70AD judgement on Jerusalem is false, as this is the last day of judgement upon the entire earth, as multiple scriptures teach

(1.) In Zechariah 14:1 (The Day of Lord) is taking place also seen in 2 Peter 3:10, that finishes in fire judgement as seen in Zechariah 14:12 below, as men are consumed as they stand on their feet

Zechariah 14:1KJV
1 Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.

2 Peter 3:10KJV

(2.) The river of life is present in Zechariah14:8, a parallel teaching of Revelation 22:1 in the (Eternal Kingdom) as seen below

Zechariah 14:8KJV
8 And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.

Revelation 22:1KJV

There are many day of the Lord judgments in scripture.
You ignore the scriptural language that points to the answer.
The language of sun moon and stars seals the deal.

Gentry's claim that Zechariah 14:1-2 pertains to Jerusalem and the Roman destruction in 70AD is a farce in several points, as Zechariah 14:2 clearly shows "All Nations" will be gathered, depicting the future battle of Armageddon

On that one fact alone, Gentry's claims of 70AD fulfillment are in the trash can

Zechariah 14:1-2KJV
1 Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.
2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

We are through. All you do is post your verses, make your hypotheses of non literalness with no defense over and over and over ad-nauseum. You do not even pretend to address the other verses I have posted which show your position inherited from others who were deceived wrong!

Have the last word if you wish- but I will not debate an automatron or parrot who can o nly see the verses they like.

The Greek word "Chilioi" was used in 2 Peter 3:8 and in Revelation 20:1-7

The definition is (Uncertain Affinity) not a literal thousand years on this earth as many claim

Strong’s Definitions
χίλιοι chílioi, khil'-ee-oy; plural of uncertain affinity; a thousand:—thousand.

KJV Translation Count — Total: 11x
The KJV translates Strong's G5507 in the following manner: thousand (11x).

Well you and Ron can take your futile speculations and foolish ideas to a premill thread.
Have fun speculating on your one nation confederacy, your little horn, your m ark of the beast etc.
Those interested in this thread have heard such speculations for years a n d moved past it.
