Dealing with a spirit of fear

That's always the argument I get.

Let me put it this way: If I deliberately play like I don't care, get sloppy, make mistakes, don't pay attention, miss the chorus changes, play wrong notes, is that true worship?

if im honest the concservative churches dont really compliment the musicians that much because they dont wnat to feed pride. it is so easy for me to get distracted when i get a compliment personally. there is nothing wrong with compliments but at the same time they will more say "your song was a blessing" "praise the Lord"

so being insecure myself....i love compliments. not cos i am horrible or bad but in churches it is acceptable to not be perfect too.

Yeah, this becomes the heart of the argument. See, I feel a responsibility to others in worship. Maybe it is because I'm a bass player at heart, and when a bass player hits a wrong note it is REALLY noticeable, LoL.

But when you sing or play off key and you are loud, it really messes up the harmony of the worship, and that is what I always come back to. If we are all going to pray or engage in the gifts, that's one thing. But if we are going to worship God together, it should be by making "music," and by that I mean being harmonious with each other. It doesn't qualify anyone who can't sing from doing so, but those who can should lead the way. Like with that sister I was talking about who I'm teaching to sing. Right now she can't sing the melody line unless someone is already doing so correctly so that she can follow it, and that's what I'm saying. Someone leading worship (or someone on the worship team who has a strong voice) needs to be leading the congregation in the melody line, or no one in the congregation will know what to sing.

I guess i can describe it like this , it was like a multitude of voices , yet as ONE VOICE .
One sound . Like not one word was being sang out of union . Like a One voice mulititude .

The Lord allowed me to hear what our prayers and worship sound like on heaven's side. It's beautiful beyond words!!! Even our prayers sound like a song in heaven. It doesn't matter if our voice is scratchy or off key .....whew!!! Powerful!!

This is why I tend to hate personal performances, even when I do it. I got talked into participating in a church talent night one time, and two minutes in I was so uncomfortable I couldn't stand it. I was thinking "SING people! I am not here to perform, I am here to worship. SING with me, for God's sakes!" I hated it with a passion. Never did it again.

I was wondering why I heard "election" about ten minutes ago and after reading this "Good advice."

Okay.

I don't know what to do about this part yet. Now I have to figure out this part.

Read real slowly what peter is telling the church .
Make your calling and election Sure .
I would also say , make sure folks are following THE BIBLICAL JESUS and not some other jesus created by men and thier doctrines .
Thus , i would also say get into the bible a whole lot and start really reading the gospels and all the letters
from the apostels and revelation . Just keep reading it and keep praying .
soon enough you will easily be able to identify one who preaches another jesus from one who actually preaches THE JESUS .
Its really a very simple walk . Just pour yourself into that bible and read and grow .

No one has ever told me I can't sing. Some have said they liked my voice. But I'm pretty average. But .....when I sing, it's not gonna be on a stage as unto men.

Yes HE does dear sister . Let all that has breath just sing praises unto the LORD and if one is even mute , THEN WHISTLE TO THE KING .
Just make a joyful sound unto the glorious LORD . And When our JOY IS IN THE LORD it matters not how we sound physcially .
all that matters is that from the heart we sing , and thank , and or even dance unto the glorious LORD .

You just reminded me of something that happened to me and my christian friend .
It was in two thousand and nine .
We were walking around a temple of a certain church .
All of a sudden i heard this singing . The only way i can describe it
was to say it seemed to be one sound , one voice , all in unison and perfect accord and unto GOD HIMSELF .
It was so shockingly beautiful to hear it .
My friend had heard it too .
We just looked at each other and then decided to go into the church .
I walked up the steps , but the door was locked . It was locked on sunday
for a reason . THIS was an actual jewish temple .
The thing is , had i not been in such awe at the sound of the voice , or i should say voices , but it was as though it was one voice .
Had i not been so marveled i would have realized there is no way that could have come from within the church .
IT was so clear and was as though it was coming to me. But i was not thinking .
We phoned up the temple and got the leader on with us . I told him about ISSIAH FIFTY THREE
and the dire need for the true MESSIAH JESUS CHRIST .
I suppose there was a reason for me being allowed to hear such a song , and i suppose it was to witness to the jewish man .
But if you had heard the song . AND the thing is it was a language , and yet it was not any langauge i have ever heard .
Its so hard to try and describe this . I cant really do it my friend . It was like the host of heaven
was all singing to GOD in total one accord . That is the only way i can say it .

That happened to me last year! I was driving down the highway on my way to my daughter's house and as I was driving I heard what sounded like a choir singing Allelujah, I thought it was my radio so I turned it up...nope...so I turned it off and could still hear it....then I rolled my window and could still here it....a month later my friend sent me a video that a worship group was practicing for Sunday service...it was all sung in acapella...they were recording it to play back and listen to how they sound and on the recording was voices and instruments recorded as well....it was angels singing with them....and it sounded EXACTLY like what I heard...
I have posted that video on here before but can do it again of you didn't get to hear it.

I know to trust God, and I am trying, but I am dealing with a spirit of fear. Can someone help me figure out how to overcome it?

I'm already getting focused on the normal parts - diet, exercise, caffeine, etc.

Dear Fluffy, fear is overcome and hope blooms when one hears encouraging, insightful and welcoming words which speak to the heart. Of such are are the two video sites posted in my signature.....please make the effort and watch them.

I side with the church. Since when is "our best" supposed to measure up to a man's standard? You have it all wrong. It's horrible to deny and condemn people who are genuine in their heart of worship toward the Lord. I think pride is at the root of this.

God isn't looking for a siren or an American Idol. He is looking for those who seek Him and a heart that calls upon Him with praise.

The humble and the broken hearted who come to pray and worship before the throne of the Almighty will not be turned away.

I've heard it, too. When I was prophesied over as a child, the woman said when I sing, the angels sing with me, but now I think that's true in many cases for a LOT of people. Maybe all... We will find out.

FEAR...secularly means to BE AFRAID.
FEAR...spiritually means to BE IN REVERENCE and AWE OF GOD.

EVIL...is the projection that comes forth from the influence of unholy, fallen, demonic angels.
WICKEDNESS....is men who ARE influenced BY and BECAUSE of demonic angels.

Here’s the deal....
God PROVIDES His Word...to be Heard, Read, Studied...
It’s an individuals CHOICE...to Hear, Read, Study..& continue or not.

EVIL...intrudes...whispering in men’s ears.
WICKED men....from EVERY conceivable angle, 24-7, by every measure...speak, instigate, advocate, suggest, force, on behalf Evil.

God DOES NOT GIVE a converted man...the spirit of Evil...
God WARNS the “spirit of Evil”, is everywhere, seeking to devour men.
And IF you open your eyes and ears...”you will hear and see” the men who have BECOME Devoured...and foot-soldier for EVIL, with their WICKEDNESS.

Diet, exercise, blah, blah.... IS SECULAR. The body Eating, Moving, IS Normal, fairly “instinctive”.
* The FOCUS of Attention God “advocates”... IS His Power, IN His Word.

You could listen, read, watch, “every waking moment”, of other people telling you what to eat, how to prepare food, how much, how little, how to move your body, this way, that way, what you can buy to keep telling what and how to eat and what and how to move your body.....AND...WHAT? They get richer, you get poorer....for what? You already know, eating and moving your body is normal for any human.

* The FASCINATING Marvelous thing ABOUT, choosing to READ Gods Word...
IS every man WHO reads/hears Gods Word....IS blessed BY God with a gift from God...and that Gift is called FAITH.
* It’s a gift given IN MEASURES....read a little, hear a little...receive a little faith. Read more, Hear more....receive more faith.
* So what’s the Big Deal About receiving Faith and INCREASE and INCREASE and INCREASE of Faith?
* FAITH is the “gateway”, FOR God to BE “WITH” a man.
* God “WITH” a man, is the “gateway” FOR God “POWER” to be with a man.
* And WHAT POWER (to accomplish ANYTHING GOOD, beneficial for man) is greater than Gods POWER? None.
* AND...the good news (presented mankind 2,000+ years ago)...IS the Awesome Offering of God...for mankind to NOT ONLY be able to OPT for God Power to be “WITH” a man......HELLO.....God Offered for HIS POWER...TO BE “IN” a man, ONCE and FOREVER!

So...seriously? Did the EVIL spirits on Earth disappear, or Wicked men disappear....BECAUSE a man has Freely Chosen to accept Gods OFFER and RECEIVE Gods POWER “IN” the man? No.
However WITH Gods POWER “IN” the man, the “man” now has the “POWER” to command EVIL spirits to depart from him, leave his presence....and they MUST.
And what about WICKED MEN? Must you Listen to them? No. Must you listen to your neighbors, the tv, the radio, read the internet, buy their videos, watch their nonsense? No.

When a man IS “suggesting” to Read, Read, Read the Word of God...
What does that COST YOU? -0-
Who is the BENEFACTOR? You.
When a man IS “suggesting” (forcing) you to hear, take, do, buy as he dictates...
What does that COST YOU? Liberty? Wealth? Well being?
Who is the BENEFACTOR? The dictator.

EVIL is always lurking...IF you ARE CONVERTED, you already have the POWER of GOD “IN” YOU......EXERCISE, USE that power to Command evil spirits LEAVE YOU ALONE!

WICKED men are exponentially, with threats, force, crawling out from behind their secret hell holes, and taking center stage with Confidence and Pride....

I somehow missed it was about music. Haha I can’t even sing in front of my wife!! I wouldn’t worry about it. I don’t sing but I am going to have to at some point because we are all going to be doing quite a bit of it in heaven.

She does! So my music tastes have been corrupted by the devil. I have always loved aggressive fast metal. That stuff is hard to find without being filled with Satanic garbage. Luckily there is Christian music of every taste now a days. Anyway it is hard for me to enjoy most of the Christian music I hear in church. Therefore even harder to sing it!
