Mark uses a word here that means "throwing out", the Spirit cast out Jesus into the wilderness.
The KJV puts it this way:
Mark 1:12 KJV
And immediately the Spirit driveth him into the wilderness.
I'm wondering about the parsing between "Spirit filled", "Spirit led", now we have "Spirit driven", isn't the reality that there are a number of ways that God uses in speaking of how the Holy Spirit interacts with us, and how He impacts our lives, and maybe we shouldn't try to put Him in too much a of box, and instead focus on seeking His working in our lives?
Much love!
The Holy Spirit fulfills His role as the Comforter by being in us as we are that box.
1 Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
We will know the real indwelling holy Spirit from the way the world receives spirits again and again and again after a sign.
John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
The apostle John helps us with testing the spirits by knowing He is in us and what is felt outside of us is the spirit of the antichrist.
1 John 4:1Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. 2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit
that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
The words "is come" is where Jesus Christ is presently as dwelling within us. Verse 2 is the same thing as saying this below in 2 Corinthians 13:5
2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that
Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
With His help, we can know this is the true message by how John goes on to verse 3 about those not confessing Him as presently within us but outside of us as felt.
3 And every spirit
that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them:
because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
So the Holy Spirit is in the box and not outside of us or else we could never test what is the real Holy Spirit from the spirit of the antichrist.
