My question to you is do you believe you can stop sinning completely in your flesh and become perfect like Jesus was? Or is by the spirit that Christ and the Holy Spirit of God working in and through you and they are the cause of the good fruits?

Yes.
5 for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now, 6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.

The blood of Jesus is the LIFE of Jesus. Jesus is alive. There are many who would have Jesus to remain dead on the cross....but He is alive. Partaking of the blood of Jesus is to partake of the life of Jesus.

If we abide in Christ the blood of Jesus (life) cleanses us from all sin. Walking in the Spirit is walking in resurrection life.

To partake of the Body of Christ is to line up with His teachings...to eat His words and have them transform us from within in character.

Hello to you 1st,

This will be my final question.

Yes to which question?

You yourself can stop sinning in your flesh completely?

It is Jesus Christ in and through you by the spirit who doesn’t sin when you act in faith in love for God and others?

I dont know which one you’re saying yes to.

My belief is that you and me fall short in our flesh and it is by the grace of God and the grace of Jesus Christ that we are saved to the kingdom of God understanding that we are now children of God.

Everyone here in this forum falls short of the glory of God and they always will in their flesh, for no flesh shall ever glory in front of God…

Everyone is still loved unconditionally, and if they continue in their seeking of God they will sin less and less if they die to sin like the scriptures says but the flesh can pop back up from our temptations and lust indicated by James.

For me personally I don’t think it’s good to take one single verse of scripture to clarify a view but the whole of scripture to get a full understanding.

I can honestly admit I miss the mark (sin), I’m thankful though for the grace of God and the Lord Jesus Christ who hits the mark and makes me right with God and it’s not a merit on me myself… it is simply faith… and that gives a person liberty, and freedom, in my best estimation.

Because of Jesus.

Though maybe you see this as a wrong view, I don’t know but I desired to be heard on the subject and I humbly thank you for the thread and your communication,

In love,
Matthew Gallagher

I'm not in the flesh according to Paul. There are two types of flesh. One, our nature, that Paul says was crucified with Christ, Romans 6:6-7, and our shell, our body which doesn't produce sin. Sin comes from within, not from without. Romans 8:9 says that we are NOT IN THE FLESH, but in the Spirit, if the Spirit of God indwells us. And if we don't have the Spirit of Christ inside us, we do not belong to Him. Now read 1 John 3:1-9 and know that sinners will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

Hello to you 1st,

Okay, that is your own way of perspective; thank you for sharing it with me.

We don’t believe the same way, as I believe this fleshly body will always sin (unless it is crucified with Christ and you become dead to sin; though that doesn’t mean it doesn’t come back up every so often).

As you stated when you have the holy spirit once you have faith in Christ, who he is, also in his death, burial, and resurrection, your desires will be to walk in the spirit and not so much the flesh.

Paul mentions that if we walk in spirit, so it’s an effort in our part to walk in the spirit; which is love, peace, kindness, forbearing one another; forgiving, having mercy, and all of the things that are mention in Galatians 5, which talks directly about the flesh and spirit and their conflict with each other.

I’m very thankful Jesus has taken away the sin of the world. And those who are in unrest are those who have still yet to allow Jesus into their heart and receive the Holy Spirit. It’s amazing that God still loves them and desires for them to come to the knowledge of the truth about what His son has done and who his son is. Be it in this life or the next.

God bless and again thank you for your communication and your time to share with me your point of view and insights,

in love,
Matthew Gallagher

You just changed the Grace of God into...."here is what i have to do to save myself". I have to "pay a price".....as if you are required to to this to go to heaven.

Listen, the only Price paid for you to go to heaven is the one God paid, as Christ on the Cross to become your WAY TO GOD. John 14:6

LEGALISM......Its all you ever speak about, and that is why you can show no post, no Thread, that gives CHRIST all the Credit due Him for Salvation.

You are so messed up and confused. You drag your sins behind you with ropes made of lies. It’s terrifying to watch. I am terrified for you.

You said...Christ on the Cross to become your WAY TO GOD....but then when I suggest to do that very thing...you call it being saved by works. You are trying to avoid God, avoid reality and avoid the victory of Christ...and then calling that salvation. What kind of salvation tries to avoid going to God?

You are trying to obscure your lawlessness by saying any expectation of a holy life is based on LEGALISM.

How foolish.

The cross of Christ is the MEANS that gives us the power to DO what God wants us to do. That is called OBEDIENCE...not legalism. The irony is that you have made grace to be a legalistic alternative to obedience.

All people are saved by mercy. But there is MORE than mercy that God wants to give us access to...He wants us to walk in victory leading to glory. In your scheme that victory is seen as woks and legalism. The NT is about glory...not just salvation. But your downgrading of what grace is obscures the will of God so you can avoid God and call it salvation.

What you are really advocating is a salvation AWAY from God and responsibility. But Jesus didn't die for the sins of the world to bring in the anarchy of lawlessness. The Holy Spirit makes us MORE responsible for our actions, not less so.

They offer superficial treatments for my people’s mortal wound. They give assurances of peace when there is no peace. Jer 8:11

You have discouraged the righteous with your lies, but I didn’t want them to be sad. And you have encouraged the wicked by promising them life, even though they continue in their sins. Ezekiel 13:22

I will cancel the bargain you made to cheat death, and I will overturn your deal to dodge the grave. When the terrible enemy sweeps through, you will be trampled into the ground. Isaiah 28:18

Christendom now repeats the mistakes of Israel.

Exactly right. The Gentiles have mainly NOT learned anything from the biblical narrative and history. Are we better than the Jews who came before us? Only in our prideful delusions. Our collective pride in being chosen for grace has fooled us into thinking that we are better than those who were fooled by being chosen according to the flesh.

So we prove the bible right that grace is indeed deceitful. If only religiously confused people would realize what God is looking for in us. He wants to build His church based on the inner man...not the adaptive religious constructs of the outer man.

What some do not recognize is that there are two kinds of faith regarding Jesus.

The faith in Jesus doesn't end in freedom from sin.
The faith of Jesus in you DOES give us complete freedom from sin. This is when you are completely filled with the Spirit of Christ and have His nature. You become one. John 17.

Those who keep sinning but call themselves Christians are not safe from hell. Satan doesn't care if you believe IN Jesus and have faith IN Him, as long as you keep sinning and stay away from the faith OF Jesus. Then you are his. Romans 6:15-16. Yes, we all need to start with faith IN Jesus. That is the Holy Spirit drawing us, but we MUST be born again into the faith OF Jesus. His faith and nature in us.

So why do YOU continue to Sin on a Daily Basis???

No. With men this is impossible. You yourself cannot do it.
But nothing is impossible for God. So just keep trusting Him.
After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. 1 Peter 5:10

It is the child GOD promises to bring who receives the blessing. If you try to bring about Gods promised child, it will not work and you will have to send away the child you make, just as Abraham had to do.
Sarah laughed as if the child God promised and said he would bless was impossible. Don’t be like Sarah. Just trust Him to do what He has promised.

Will God bring to the point of birth and then hold back delivery?
No!
But He calls us to patient endurance in our trust.

Yes, that is exactly what I mean and what Romans 6:6-7 says. It is not on the outside (our body) where sin resides, but in our nature on the inside (our spirit and soul/mind and heart) telling our body what to do and how to react. Once Adam sinned, man stopped having the divine nature of His Creator; instead man inherited the nature of the serpent. That sin nature is why Jesus came to free us from, and let us once more partake of the divine nature of God. 2 Pt. 1:2-4. That doesn't mean we cannot sin; only that our free will now is in love with God and chooses to keep himself pleasing to God by keeping the laws written on his heart. 1 John 3:3, 1 John 5:18.

Once you know who you are in Christ, you can heal the sick and enjoy divine protection. He is our love and security.

Thank you again for the discussion,

It all ties in with being born again, your new desire are things of the spirit rather than the flesh.

I don’t care how good a person tries to be, they still end up missing the mark from time to time.

It’s good to thankful for Gods grace, and to continue to seek him out, and live by and with the spirit in you, you’re still gonna struggle and suffer problems even doubt from time to time.

If you don’t believe me, the Old Testament is crowded with it, and Jesus suffered himself with people around him mocking and laughing.

If life could be completely perfect being a Christian, many people would believe in Christ.

The reality is, it’s not perfect, it’s a struggle, but with God he is there to help ( with comment to @stunnedbygrace ), @1stCenturyLady.

Thank you both for sharing, with me your time.

in love,
Matthew Gallagher

What makes you believe I have not been cleansed of all my sin, including the sin nature? What do you believe that makes you state this again?

IF you're Born Again of the Holy Spirit by FAITH in the perfect SIN OFFERING of Jesus on the cross (Eph 2:8,9) then you HAVE been cleansed of all your sin - assuming that when AS A CHRISTIAN you sin, you confess it (1 John 1:9) so it can be cleansed.

You never HAD a "Sin nature" all you have is a "HUMAN NATURE" which still functions as it always has, and you're still tempted according to James 1 - and sometimes you let the temptations "conceive" and become sinful acts - just like the rest of us.
