This is why we are told that anything we believe to be true about the Bible and proclaim as truth, is subject to the Word of God as he gave to his prophets to pen the scriptures.

In order for anyone to know for sure if they are understanding any doctrine correctly, it has to be scrutinized by the Word of God. If the Word of God agrees with your particular understanding on any doctrine, then you have found truth. But if any part of the Bible contradicts what you believe to be truth, then you have to make correction.

Everything in the Bible must agree as there is only one truth. Our job is to seek for it and make corrections when necessary.

Are you, or the denomination you belong to, one of "God's people" who are "being regathered in the prophecy of Isaiah"?

I believe so maam, but of course that is irrelevant as I have to answer for myself, but I did take the Bible and prove it to myself. Do you believe that God leaves us out in the cold, or makes it perfectly clear how to identify His people and the path we are to take if we want to belong to Him?

If He doesn't identify the path, then obviously He cannot rightly hold anyone accountable, but if He does, then He has every right to expect people to obey. Does this make sense Mary?

It is really a tragedy that the Bible has been chopped up into pieces by verses. The KJV is one of the worst offenders of this distortion, showing each verse as stand-alone.

Here is John 3:5-8, a paragraph in the NIV, "Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

Clearly, John 3:5 doesn't mean baptism. The following sentence (John 3:6) makes it perfectly clear: "Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit." Born of water means natural birth.
