I'm going to be brutally honest here. I've only been able to get along with progressive Christians. Why? Because they don't walk around thinking they have the absolute truth. Progressive Christianity makes sense to me, fundamentalist doesn't. I know fundamentalists don't like hearing this and will find every reason in the world to justify/project their fear of God and hell onto me with their sky daddy issues. They think I can't handle their so called absolute truth but really they can't handle that there's no absolute truth. Don't get me wrong, we all have opinions and different point of views, but it ends there. There is no objective morality, there is no absolute truth. Even this thread is just me sharing a point of view. All religions have value but the problem is when someone develops a 'religious ego' where they will look down on everyone else who doesn't believe what they do. Why am I picking on fundamentalist Christianity in particular? Because it's the #1 religion and it's been around for a while which are attractive aspects, but it does not make it the absolute truth whatsoever. In fact, fundamentalist Christianity has been on the decline and is even projected to be overtaken by Islam here in the next few decades. All I'm saying is, there is nothing religious about walking around proclaiming that your religion is the ultimate truth and everyone else is wrong.
I've also been seeing a strong correlation between fundamentalist Christians and an appeal to narcissistic authoritative figures such as Trump and Putin.
