As for tongues being not for today, they are part of the New Covenant as are all the gifts, signs and wonders of the Spirit. Nothing changes inside a covenant as long as the covenant is in effect. So you are saying you are under a different covenant than the one Jesus made with us. Good luck with that unbelief you got going there.

18) For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book [Bible], If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19) And if any man shall take away from the words of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

There is only ONE COVENANT! The Old Testament believers looked forward towards Jesus for salvation, and the New Testament believers looked back to Christ.

Tell you what. If you can convey why God wrote so extensively about tongues that it took Paul to write it in three chapters, and you can tell me the meaning, nature, and character of tongues, come back to me when you think you "got it" and we'll reason together.

The reason I have not divulged the phenomenon of tongues is because I wanted folks here to be like the Bereans who searched the scriptures to see if what Paul said were so.

John refers to a single literary work inspired by His prophetic insight. - the bible as such was not compiled at the time of writing.

From Genesis to Revelation ALL Scripture interrelates! As I've already asserted, Revelation cannot stand apart from the Bible, this is common sense. Revelation has many doctrines only the Bible can enlighten as per 2 Timothy 3:16.

As a Christian, it is a blessing and a privilege to read the whole Bible. God told Jeremiah to write the things He dictated to him in a book. Likewise, God told Moses the same as with Paul, the apostles, and prophets . And, all these books were compiled and made into one Book called the Bible.

There is no reason to conclude that somehow the gifts ceased after this prophetic work was written.

It's because you did not get the gist of 1 Corinthians 14:22.
